Friend of mine say Chevrolet is better than KIA.
Friend also say Chevrolet has a higher resale value.
Chevrolet has an Opel engine.
True?
I am looking for a car that is between 40K and 50K.
Both Chevrolet and KIA are about the same price.

Chevrolet has a stiffer body tat protects u better compared to Kia. Take a look at both cars and u will noe wat I'm saying.

kia is definitely a better buy...
if you noticed, lately its designs have gone continental. they've become much more attractive and even pose a fair threat to the japs. and with its budget pricing, low maintenance and good dealer (C&C) it's a safe buy.
you buy chevys for their badges. they're just korean cars with american badge made in thailand. -

I am more concern about the engine. I am ok if its an opel engine coz both Chevrolel n kia their price and petrol consumption are almost the same.
Can anyone here confirm with me about Chevrolel's engine. It is Opel or from Korean.

If you are talking about small Chevrolets like the Aveo, the engine is in-house developed by Daewoo..not opel's engine..but they might have use Opel's engine as a basis for their designs, this I don't know..
But if it's me, I would definitely go for Kia..American car manufacturers are facing so many problems now, better stick with the Koreans..And don't forget that Kia is under Hyundai..and Hyundai is already such a force to be reckoned with.. -

Haha..the corruption case only involves the Chairman of Hyundai ma..after he's gone it's all back to normal..of cuz, hopefully the new chairman is not corrupted..lol..and even when they are having these problems, that didnt affect the production of their cars, so i think that's fine..it is impossible for Hyundai to jsut suddenly disappear that's for sure..not like Rover..haha..

what are the models u are looking at? i m driving a kia, no probs complains what so ever so far. but if u think u will go back to the agent to do more servicing, C&C quite expensive.. not too sure bout chev

u look at their business model... its working well
they even produce made-in-europe kias (in labour cheap slovakia) just to capture the european market which favoured their own production cars. -

well i not sure why but kia vehicles in america is cheap even for those new cars compare to other brand including chevrolet. When I mention to my american colleagues about kia and they will immediately say, "eeerrh!"

Kia is not to be scoffed at nowadays..haha..they are improving tremendously..i'm sure they will surpass Chevy someday..lol..i would never go for american cars..cant believe american cars are not improving at all when america is so well-known for it's technological advancement..probably recruited all their experts to design weapons and fighter jets..lol..the plastic in an american car is so horrible that it's more suitable to be used for tupperware containers..lol..but luckily chevy is made in korea, which means the plastics used are better than when the cars come from america..

Kia will be better than chevy as chevy cars are basically daewoo. Well, it up to your preference on choosing a car, if you think that chevy is a gd choice, then go for it. But remember to go test drive first, getting enough advice, number of service the car company provides, then come up with a decision.
