Who says you can't be green and enjoy super dooper über-cars?
Not Koenigsegg, that's for sure, because it has just come up with a version of the CCX supercar that runs on clean, green ethanol and just happens to produce 1,018bhp.
That's more than 200bhp up on the standard car's meagre 806bhp for this CCXR, as the Veyron-munching machine has been called.
Also demonstrating just how much power Koenigsegg squeezes from its in-house developed V8 engine, they've had to detune it to go endurance racing.
It seems 806bhp is too much of an advantage, so the engine has been reigned-in to a paltry 600bhp to take part in the FIAT GT1 series.
The racer is called the CCGT and had no problems slimming down to the minimum weight limit, even getting below the 1,100kg minimum so that the team could place ballast weights around the car to help with handling.
Koenigsegg's engineers have also been busy sorting out the racer's aerodynamics. Wonder if they've had any help from the Stig?

No way the Koenigsegg is going to be faster than the Bugatti Veyron man..haha..even though the official figures of the Bugatti is 1000PS or 987BHP, but on a cold day when the air is denser, the power can be up to 1047BHP! And the Bugatti had a 4WD system..all 1018bhp transferred to the rear wheels in the Koenigsegg? It's just going to smoke the rubbers and move nowhere..lol
When Koenigsegg came up with their first supercar, they claimed 806bhp and McLaren F1-bashing acceleration and top speed figures, but not a single road tester manage to beat the McLaren F1's acceleration figures, let alone the top speed..so i seriously doubt the new bioethanol E85-powered Koenigsegg Flower Power (That's what Koenigsegg is really going to call this car!) will beat the Bugatti Veyron..it might just pimp the McLaren F1 though..my favourite car is still the McLaren F1 though, even though it has been blasted away by the Bugatti Veyron..but none other car can stir your emotions like a McLaren F1..the Bugatti Veyron is just too clinical..lol..

The McLaren F1 is super light at 1149kg, so it will definitely do better than the Veyron..haha..and since the McLaren F1 is my fav car, of cuz I know it's engine is a BMW M-sports 6.0-litre V12 engine..haha..with 627bhp..it even has a engine bay lined with 24K gold! Haha..the best heat deflector known to man..and Andy Wallace is the man!!! Drove a McLaren F1 to 386.4km/h and set the world record for the fastest speed achieved by a production car..which is held on to for more than a decade..haha..McLaren F1 rocks!!! -

i bet the Stig mus be very honoured that they listened to him and added a spoiler, furthermore they remake the whole car and add in "GT" becos of the GT-Wing.. kudos to them

Does anyone have the Macca's Nordschleiffe times? I'm interested to know. Even its designer Gordon Murray had this to say about the Bugatti:
"One really good thing, and I simply never expected this, is that it does change direction. It hardly feels its weight. Driving it on a circuit I expected a sack of cement, but you can really throw it at tight chicanes."
The CCXR looks very interesting too. I see they've added a rear wing to it as well. -
