can..wont do much damage...but from 1st gear to 3rd...muz drag....waste fuel..start from 2nd gear can but quite slow in moving off...unless van or lorry coz high gear ratio...if downshift from 4th to 2nd of coz can..but strong engine brake..dun let go clutch fully..slowly release...Originally posted by kewty:is it ok to start the car off in 2nd gear instead of the 1st?
