My girlfriend was lucky on Sunday 4D, she won $50k for first prize.
So last night we were discussion on what car to buy now that she got the money to fullfill her dream.
She is 23yrs old and is working as a sale rep, at orchard area, selling cosmetics at the counter.
She is looking for a rare and unique car so that she can 'stand-out' from the crowd. Ok...something that will suit a young girl who likes to go disco and very modern person.
You know la, the type of cars that we dreamt and promised ourselves that we will buy when we strike lottery. So this is her cahnce and she was talking the whole night thru.
Today will be taking leave to collect the money with her, and then go car showroom to look-see.
Any suggestings? Or anyone knows of someone letting go their 'unique' cars? -

the definition of striking lottery and buying dream car is normally above 500k.... not 50..

I suggest you save the $50k or find a financial consultant to invest it.
Why blow all that money on just a car? Of course, it's nice that you struck 4D and suddenly there is a windfall. But maybe you would like to consider stretching your dollar further?
At the end of the day, a car like Suzuki Swift you can get for 50k. But then factor in the other things like petrol, road tax, maintenance, etc after you got the car. If your gf can afford then i guess go for it.
What i'm trying to advise u is if you won $200k, then by all means go ahead and buy a nice car. 50k is like.....a lot of money but also not alot.

Please do NOT make full payment of the car with that $50k.... it's wise to pay by instalments... have a reasonable amount of downpayment, then pay the rest with a relatively short instalment period.... too long an instalment period will cause you to pay a lot more... but paying all at one go will deprive you of cash at hand...
By the way... your gf likes to go clubbing? i think you mentioned tht she likes to go discos.... erm does she drink? if so then wat's the point of driving there? -

everyone can buy a car, but not everyone can maintain it. my best suggestion is go for a little holiday and invest the rest. make ur money grow, only when both of u is financially stable with a feasible income den think about buying a car.
buying a car is its not as simple as everyone think. -
better dont buy car lar.. 50K not enough.. somemore she is working at orchard.. not high pay job.. the ERP.. carpark can suck her blood liao.. tax.. insurance.. petrol... season parking for work & home.. somemore she is young.. if she just passed her driving, the insurance is high lor..
if really must buy.. 50K.. buy picanto maybe stil have to tighten buckle.. -

U mean u wan a $50k car or more than $50k one, for $50k can go for suzuki, if wan more ex one Civic type R $100k hatch back 198bhp unique bah!

Think of the carpark charges per month... in hundreds. It may take up a chunk out of her monthly salary liao... plus ERP... not worth it lar. Save the money or invest it.
