Can anyone else help me on the engine part? Is VVT-i still the most friendly engine around?
Haha..VVT-i is "Variable Valve Timing-intelligent"..it's Toyota's technology to vary the timing of the valve as the name suggests to save fuel..a lot of different companys have the same technology but name it differently..Mazda is VVT, Honda is VTEC..Honda's system is slightly different..
VTEC was first used in F1..last time F1 cars can fit turbochargers..but after the governing body ban the use of turbos, Honda came up with VTEC, which works like a turbo..and gave a normally-aspirated engine amazing powers..they soon fitted VTEC to their cars..but on the cars that they fit VTEC, it's more for fuel economy than power..but it does produce more power if you rev the engine hard..unlike the VVT-i in Toyota..which is strictly just for fuel economy..the VTEC used in Honda's Type-R cars is totally different..the VTEC is TOTALLY tuned for power and not economy..and that's why you can squeeze 237bhp from a 2.0-litre VTEC engine in a Honda S2000..a normal 2.0-litre engine will only produce an average of 140bhp..
