Nd advice frm ppl who buy 2nd hand car direct from owner b4

  Might be getting my first car soon, mebe buy direct from owner... I tried reading onemotoring site, and although they give some details on how to go down and transfer, I still needa ask a few things. Hope some gurus can help.
  
  1) I guess when agree with the owner to deal, can pay him a deposit first? Any kind of format for that or just draft our own agreement?
  
  2) On day of transfer, pay the owner first or he sign papers liao then pay him or wat? Cheque? Cash??
  
  3) Muz have insurance coverage to drive the car away. But before you signed the papers that day you don't own the car yet... can get insurance for a car you don't own yet?

  Think its better to get a middle man to help u settle all this for you but you must pay that middle man a small fees for all the paper work. Things that guy will do for u r
  
  1) Get a bank loan for u.
  
  2) Will help u settle insurance for u
  
  3) Settle transfer of ownership for u
  
  After the middle man settle all this for u, u just need to go down n sign a few document and collect the car liao. Thats how i settle my things when i got my car form the ex owner.

  I tot of tat, but tot can save some cash... keke.. how much kopi money you pay the middle man and is he your friend or wat?
  
  If I want to find one, where to find? car dealer? those freelance 2nd hand car agent? Thanks!!

  Since you're new at this, I suggest you get someone to help you settle it... better to pay a bit more and feel safe with your car, rather than save a bit of cash just to find out that something went wrong with the transaction and you might have to give up your car... and not get your money back...

  yeah. it's better to get a middleman. or best, get a lawyer to withness all e signing.

  Contact number i lost liao but u can go sgcarmart n get the number. I still remember his name is Ken and the name of the company is call "Chicago".
  He charge me $500 to settle all the document for me.
