Haha..for your info, HID lights = Xenon lights..HID stands for High Intensity Discharge..The Xenon/HID lights actually originated from camera's flashlight which is very bright..so HID lights and Xenon lights is the same thing..if your car didnt come with Xenon/HID lights as standard, then converting to HID/Xenon lights yourself is illegal..so u can only change to a brighter halogen light..haha..Originally posted by social87:hmm...are xenon lamps brighter or HID?
wad's the diff b/w them?

Yup..Xenon/HID lights not necessarily must come in projector type..it can also come in reflector type..and LTA says changing to Xenon lights from normal halogen lights needs a lot of work..cuz the voltage higher..and the reflector also must change..but this is what LTA says la..so i dunno also..lol..Originally posted by tomsss:hey i was thinking... xenon headlamps don't neccessary come in those projector types right? (the ones with a big curve lens)
cus i know that the '02-'04 Mini Cooper S's xenon headlamps is reflector type:
the top half is the low beam xenon lamp, the bottom circle is the high beam halogen. the smaller circle is... just the word "xenon"
So... actually you can still use the car's stock reflectors but fit a xenon bulb instead? but i also read somewhere you'll need to change the reflector cos the stock won't be able to take the xenon's high temp... true? and also xenons need ballast to work lah... hmm
It MIGHT just affect your battery..better change to a high voltage battery..if not might drain your battery quite fast..sorry, but i dunno any workshops to intro..so wait for other guys to help u out then! Haha..Originally posted by social87:anyone can intro any workshops that are in the north area?im staying at seletar hills dere.
would it affect my battery life if i were to change the lamps?thanks
