steering problem

hey bros/sis..
i changed to a new set of tomei coilovers on sat but got some probs now.. need some help/advise..
the problem i have now is.. when i do a full lock turn to the LEFT, my steering wheel will stay there PERMANENTLY even after acceleration.. its supposed to return back to original state.. and when i do full lock turn to the RIGHT, the steering wheel turns back BUT slow.. it does not match the turning speed of the car, in which it USUALLY does..
can anybody advise? could it be the..
- coils
- alignment
- installers forget to connect a wire or anything?
and dunno la.. my front right brakes seem to have a small problem.. (maybe its been like that all the while but notice it recently bcoz i was paying alot of attention to see if i could hear the knocking sound..).. sometimes can hear the calipers pressing against the rotors (metal clamping sound... very soft sound..)
additional information would be...
1. i just got the car back 2 weeks ago (had accident on the left)
2. i serviced my 50,000 as i collected it..
3. steering and brake sound problem only noticed today..
last but not least, changing coils will void steering warranty(i doubt so right)?

It's your alignment.
What part of the car was involved in the accident? If it has to do with the wheel area, then that may be the cause as well.
Have you serviced or modified your brakes? It could be that the calipers or pads not fully tighted and secured in place.
And changing of coils, in most likely cases, WILL void your warranty on the steering, as it is linked to the suspension system. -
Wat car u driving, can go to yr respective forum to check with them.

nope, my brakes are stock.. never been modified at all.. -
If you've just changed it and got problem and trying to find your solution here???

mmm... my guess would be that the installation of the coilovers might have affected the toe angle of the front wheels. you could refer back to the place where u installed it and seek their opinion.Originally posted by zerocool85:wheels was not involved in the accident..

as for the brake thing, you mentioned that you had sent yr car for 50k KM servicing right? head back to the service centre to have them check it out... -
Maybe changing coilover also changed the camber of the steering? Haha..but in any case, best to ask the workshop that installed the coilovers for u..good luck..

went back to check...
installers told me that its only NORMAL that the car reacts that way..
its simply booosheet... -
they could have accidently set ur caster

lol... its also normal that they respond like that

caster affects steering self-centre after turning. toe affects steering wander when driving straight. camber also affects steering wander to a certain extend but not as much as toe. go do an alignment and check ur caster settings. possible cause is when u install the coilovers, the caster rods were affected or ur caster rod bushing is leaking.
