yes... ur car can even fly...Originally posted by rainhawk87:hmm does adding a spoiler help? or just adding weight to the car?
if u engineer the shape of ur car good.. u dun even need spoilers to generate downforce... like the 599 GTB....Originally posted by nyox:if you frequently drive about 200km/h then it helps add downforce lor. sometimes i wonder why those cars with puny engines still go add a big GT wing.
maybe they use it to dry their clothes.
A spoiler goes on a car, a wing goes on an aeroplane.Originally posted by Icemoon:I have a question.
What's the diff between a spoiler and a wing?
If one race in a circuit that has a lot of SLOW corners, you may want to INCREASE your downforce. Do you know the reason?Originally posted by the Bear:if you want to go fast in a straight line, it's just added drag...
if you want to corner at 120, you will need the downforce..
but then, who the heck corners at 120 on the streets?

Downforce means the downward pressure created by the aerodynamic characteristics of a car that allows it to travel faster through a corner by holding the car to the track or road surface.Originally posted by the.owl:wtf is downforce? shouldnt it be upforce
so the spoiler is like a upside down airplane wing?Originally posted by sand king:Downforce means the downward pressure created by the aerodynamic characteristics of a car that allows it to travel faster through a corner by holding the car to the track or road surface.
Does it not ooccur to you?Originally posted by rainhawk87:hmm does adding a spoiler help? or just adding weight to the car?
Well said!Originally posted by mancha:Does it not ooccur to you?
Why it is called spoiler?
Your car is designed without flaps or wings, adding them spoil the design. Also wear out your rear tyres faster. Block your rear view. Cause wind drag and therefore increase fuel consumption. Reduce the peoples' estimation of you. And most important of all, after a while the novelty of it wears off, and you yourself will feel stupid about it. It is attractive when you do not have it, but no big deal when you do have it.
That's why it is called spoiler.![]()
