with regards to your cold air intake, you will need to isolate the air intake bay from the engine heat. if this is not done properly, you will be inducting hot engine heat into your air intake system and it will be power lag instead of power gain.Originally posted by sunny6110:- Lowered suspension

where u changing ur racing clutch, what brand. curious lah..
open knife, hehehe, thought that was a term used by motor cyclist. lol. i did change b4 my exhaust system from remus b4 and 3rd party extractors. the 3rd party extractors did nothing for my civic and infact there were power lost when we dyno it. my guess is, it is not made by the same manufacturer and therefore might not be compatible. I think if you are going to change exhaust system, do try to get from a proven brand or if someone did the combination b4 and have proven it is better. I know HKS does a full exhaust system from extractors to cat convertor and cab back. Heard that the Apexi system is quite good as well.
after you do your upgrades, can you let me know if you got more power gains. interested lah.

Hey mate.
May i ask when you lowered your suspension did they cut your springs to make the car lower or did you change to new springs, Because if they cut it to make it shorter, it does not increase the performance but decreases it.
You may want to consider sway bars and this product called broquet fuel charger(http://www.broquet.com.sg/). personally have installed the system and the car does feel more peppy. read up more on the webby

think when u lower ur suspension, you should change to a harder and shorter springs ratther than cutting them. if you cut your exsisting springs, the softness of the spring will still be there and you might infact damage your dampers. dun think cutting springs is a good idea. it is a poor man's way to lower the car but not ideal.

have you thought of changing the gears as well? short shift would be nice. the other thing you will need to consider is also your brakes. think after all the power enhancements that you did to your car, you will need better brake rotors and maybe bigger calipers as well. i fast car is no good if you cannot stop it....Originally posted by sunny6110:- Lowered suspension

quite inconvenient for low suspension at hump and multi-storey carparks...

think turbo should be ur last option, if all else does not satisfy u.
i did have a Apexi VAFC in my old EK. It helps control the air fuel ratio and the vtec kick in. but you will need someone who knows how to tune this in order for it to be effective. They would preferrably have Dyno tuning machine to help you tune and see the results. I did my in Autowerke b4 but cannot seem to find them anymore. I know ST Powered are distributors of Apexi, but not sure if they have Dyno tuning. -
well modding the ecu chip can help to "release" about 10 bhp power plus. this is done by changing the engine map. cause all car engine are "detuned" for economical value fuel economy. make sure its done by a experienced tuner. However once done fuel economy will go down for sure.

but u shldnt lup a VAFC so soon.. its usually the last stage to tune ur car..
but u can always tune it to ur setup.. so.. not so bad la.. but waste $$..
and also.. go to recognised workshops to tune ur VAFC.. not all workshops give good tuning.. -
bore throttle

change pistons
remove sound system (Headunit, speakers etc)
remove air con system
remove rear seats
Anyway a Vtec controller is always the last step. Apexi VAFC is cheap now as there is a newer version Apexi Neo. If you have the $$$, change the ECU instead of using piggybacks.
An advise : When you mod your engine parts, PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE GASKET !!! It tends to leak more often on a ESi .. Don't ask me how I know

ok... i thrashed my kancil abt 3wks ago.. now in scrapyard.. suffered broken fingers and sprained ankle. backbone still got pain la...
my brakes gave way, think the lines are d/c or clogged or stuff.. was travelling at 150kmh b4 trying to turn in and it happened..
anyways, there's this offer in jb that offered a vti for 10k rm and esi for 9k rm.. never been mod for both but its really thrashy as in looks. the engine still able to manage with slight vibes here and there. should it get it? or should i get another one modded one cost abt 24k rm? sorry off topic... anyway i be using the car for tracking. no other purposes.... thks for opinions ya! -

11. AEM ECU control unit. Farking hard to use...But better ther any piggy back.
12. front and back strant bars. strengthen handling.
13.Front and rear anti roll bar. strengthen handling too.
14.Koyo giant radiator. ESI engine heats up easily...
15.8 bladed radiator fan.
16.MSD ignition system. Adds more firing power.
17.Close ratio Shifting set. Cuts down shift timing.

Then u go put wad iv listed to u ar...not say big hole lar...u can try go with REXs and EVOs. But if those heavily mod 1 ar..still can try lar.cos sg road ar more then 350 horse hard to peform liao la. Tracking lei...4WD or RWD always better lar.
