Red lights ..... waiting time!

  Juz wonder if u encounter certan traffic lights which is red for ridiculous amt of time (2-3min during morning peak)! It's doubly agoning when the road with green signal often has little or no cars travelling!
  
  More importantly, is there any avenue to launch a "complaint"?!

  wait 2-3 minutes will die ah?
  
  there must be some reason why it was set that long
  
  if the 'heavier' traffic side keep allowing cars to move, what will happen at the other junction? Jam also mah..they need to 'smooth' out the traffic somehow

  the right-turn from bt timah rd to kg java rd takes ard 100 seconds.
  
  a chance to get past the novena intersection along thomson road also takes just as long.
  
  yishun avenue 2 at khatib MRT towards town.

  fill in ur details and select "Request for traffic lights, change in traffic light timings, yellow boxes at junctions, red zones for schools, pedestrian crossings, road signs, speed regulating strips, road humps, overhead bridges, centre dividers, footpath railings, additional slip roads, wider roads" under "On Traffic Matters" and then proceed to write ur complaint.

  There's an avenue to feed-back on the above issue.. Cos LTA can't be going to every single junction to see if it's stopping too long on one side while the other lane is free of vehicles..
  
  However, if I'm not mistaken, most junctions uses sensor, so it could be a faulty sensor..

  Some junctions have longer waiting time simply because they let many vehicles pass through at one go, sometimes taking up more than a minute on bi-directional incl green arrows.
  
  Waiting time is also greatly dependent on traffic situations at nearby junctions. If there is are more cars and a larger 'green wave' towards town, expect 10 seconds more allowance on that side and 10 seconds less on the opposite direction.
