i need help making a decision

hey guys, i need your help again.
I am thinking of changing car. I currently drive a Chevrolet Lumina SS 06' (a.k.a. Holden Commadore or Vauxhall monaro) 5.7L V8. I'm thinking of changing to an 07' Cooper S which has a 1.6l turbocharged engine.
The reason why i'm thinking of this swap is because i think the Lumina is too much for me to handle, i almost got into too many accidents, i think to cut things short, i'm a new driver so i lack the experience to handle such a monstrous car. Also, the MINI is more trendy, its like an icon, very fun to drive and it has many many features.
The thing is, if i want to change to MINI, my dad will still have to fork out about QR 30,000 (arnd S$15k) for brand new Cooper S. do u guys think i should change or should i stick to the Chevy? btw the Chevy is > 1 year old.
Chevrolet Lumina SS 0-100kph = 4.6
MINI cooper S 0 - 100kph = 6.4.
and because of this everytime i drive the lumina, i don't enjoy, i feel damn insecure.

Since you are so young... you should drive a nice pick up truck....
When you are comfortable driving a pick up around while your friends are driving Merc Sports is when you have grown up....
BTW turbo charged cars are very problematic because of the turbo charger. Look for super charged cars instead... -
