accidents in msia..

eh.. just wanna ask something.. if u were driving alone in msia and lets say a msia car accidentally hits the back of ur car.. in sg clear cut case he pay.. but in msia how?
and if he refuses to pay then how to go about the insurance and stuff?
and also.. wad if he can onli speak malay and u cant speak malay.. both stare at each other and scratch head?
today i just came back from msia by coach.. going thru johor.. saw abt 6 accident scenes along the north south highway all within a few km onli..
first one i saw was 3 johor cars hit each other all spin all over the place.. block 2 lanes.. all the vehicles must go to road shoulder to pass the accident vehicles on the left..
second one i saw was a johor registered proton car hit the backside of a singapore registered subaru
third one was a chain collision of over 10 cars with more than 5 being singapore registered. the rest were malaysian cars with most being johor, some selangor etc. dont know how they collided but by the time we were passing by all of them had been moved to the road shoulder.. everyone who saw the scene was like OMG. oh and the first 5 cars in front were all SG cars.. dont know if thats the order of collision since the cars were moved..
this was the major traffic jam "cause" as after this scene traffic was smooth.
after that also saw another bunch of 2 johor cars and 1 selangor car chain bang bang into each other backside
after that saw a truck whose muddy skid muds show that it has skidded off the expressway and "capsized sideways".. it ended up on the field on its side (undercarriage facing expressway)
after that further down got another minor accident involving a sg car and a johor car.. traffic smooth so went past too fast to figure out the details..
so yea.. msia car bang u or u bang msia car or major accident in msia.. how? -
In the case of any accident in MY, 1st you need to report to the local police within 24 hours. I will give you a few scenarios (based on someone hit u from behind)
1) If say the damage is less than RM400, if you report police, and that person don't, the person will automatically get a summon of RM300 plus his NCB gone, the person might might not be able to renew road tax. But you can't claim from the person's insurance becos the amount is too small
2) If the damage is less than RM400, both of you report, the person will also get a summon of RM300 for causing accident, but you can't claim the person's insurance becos of the small amount
3)If damage is over RM400, you report, but the other person did not, the person will automatically get a RM300 summon, plus you can claim from the person's insurance
4) If damage is over RM400, both of you report, that person will also get a RM300 summon, plus you can claim from the person's insurance.
So if the damage is under RM300, most pple will settle between themselves. Why I say RM300 is becos there's no difference between getting a summon and paying you. So say if that person decided to give you RM290 instead of RM300, just take it. -
Be wary of how the MY car knock into your back.
If the road is deserted, no other cars around, beware, if the knock is deliberate to make you stop. Don't stop, but make your way to the nearest police station and make a report. Have the passengers in you car note the offending vehicle description.
In genuine accidents, the first thing is to get the details, and then make a police report. Report to your insurance as soon as possible. What else can you do? If you knock into an MY car's back, do the same thing, try not to settle on the spot. -

i bet 90% of my drivers would probably come out with the sledge hammer in this instance. lol. if u haf to drive in my better get an experience driver to sit beside or best someone can speak malay. if u think someone purposely knock ur backside or cause an accident u better dun stop. lose your car nvm but lose urself here..

so the best is see rear view mirror note license plate number and make and model and continue to police station is it?
but in daytime on NS highway stop cos of accident shld b ok wad.. -

From what I've heard, it's best to call it in to PLUS, the ppl running the highway maintenance & Toll Plaza. Be wary though, they absolutely must be in full uniform (green). You can ask for their assistance in towing and informing the police immediately.
-Best advice, avoid driving alone.
-DO NOT show off by doing testosterone induced stunts like revving our engine and treating their highways like a circuit.
-Always look out for other SG cars, try to stick together.
-These criminals wouldn't try anything if they assume you are in a convoy. -
got a diff qn, lets say we drive up north in a van... do we go to the bus lane or car lane? how about driver's passport? For malaysia customs, there is no one who will scan ur passport...

Try to get his car no. plate and keep driving.
Busy road or whatever, drive all e way to the police station.
Malaysia isn't safe, man, think of the raping cases, it digusts me alot.

Passports should be with the driver while approaching checkpoint. Just make sure everyone can be seen by the immigration officer or else passengers hv to step out.
