it may be that the 3/4 clutch is more used(wear),and the 1/4 is brand new car(still have thick clutch pad)...if the cars u're comparing is new and same model..den it may be the clutch pedal adjusting screw who is behind all this..Originally posted by forumer84:Hi,i was just wondering..why do cars have different biting point? Even for those cars that are same the brand and same model? Why is it some are half-clutch,some 1/4 and some 3/4 clutch? Actually what determines the biting point and how does it determine it? Is it the engine make,type/quality of clutch, transmission or wat other factors?
Y not all the car manufacturers agree to develop a "standard" biting point for manual cars?
Any technical experts care to comment?

When you step on the clutch pedal, the two disc separate, and therefore power is not transmitted to the drive wheels.
When you slowly raise the clutch pedal slightly, the two disc slowly come together, until at one point, the two disc are just brushing against each other. That is the the biting point.
u will burn ur clutch..Originally posted by Mr boy:u'll get used to manual quickly if u go by feel, u can practice by controling the clutch on a slope to prevent ur car from rolling back, instead of just pulling ur hand brakesat least thats what i usually play around when i drive a manual.. not that boring at least lol
can adjust de... also due to wear and tear...Originally posted by forumer84:Hi,i was just wondering..why do cars have different biting point?
