Fully agree. I wanted to add that the right-most lane (lane 1) is an overtaking lane, so even if you're going at 90km/h, it doesn't mean that you can act like it's your grandfather's road even though people on the second lane are moving faster than you.Originally posted by caleb_chiang:It's hard to avoid...
like you have some moron hogging the first lane of the expressway at 60/70... You sure horn/high-beam/overtake him one...
Eh.. you are right that the right-most lane is for overtaking... But have u realised that most "overtakers" on the right-most lanes never really change back to the middle lane after "overtaking"? So if your mentality is that you want to overtake every other car on the other lanes, you have the right to remain on the right-most lane for the whole journey lor?Originally posted by TheDream:Fully agree. In my opinion, nothing but heavier fines and point deductions will improve our drivers' behaviours. Education will have limited impact as I find most drivers to be selfish and inconsiderate, e.g. earlier today I saw a pick-up blatantly turning right on East Coast Road to Joo Chiat Road when there are 'No Right Turn' signs clearly displayed, in the process causing a jam for those cars behind him while he waited to turn. It's moments like this that I wished there were traffic police or cameras around to catch the offender in the act...Originally posted by SMRT Buses:There has been plenty of news coverage as well as feedback about the state (and lack of) of driver etiquette and skill on our roads. Some people are clamouring for the government to do something about it.
The government can conduct awareness campaigns, suggest easy-to-recall slogans (as one Forum writer noted), and more. But at the end of the day, it's up to each individual driver to be aware and constantly improve skills (and attitudes). What do you think will help improve our driver behaviour?
I did remember they're catching ppl for doing that alsoOriginally posted by ceecookie:The highbeam function is useful for road hoggers or to demand give-way-to-me action.
I know that.my uncle told me that and not to go over 140km/h in sg unless u want ur license kenna revoked.Originally posted by sbst275:I did remember they're catching ppl for doing that also
Anyway, dun go abv the speed limit... If you're caught travelling sabt 40km/hr than allowed speed limit, it's court case alrdy

[b]Example
- Speed limit for this 3-lane road is 90km/h.
- All the other cars in the left and middle lane are travelling within the speed limit.
- Car A is going beyond the speed limit and he thinks he should remain in the rightmost lane because he feels that he can overtake every other car in the other 2 lanes.
- Car B is behind Car A and he thinks that 100km/h is too slow and that Car A is road hogging. So he horns and high beams and then overtake via the middle lane and then show his middle finger to Car A.
So who is right? IMO, if the speed limit is followed by everyone, then there wont be such an argument already. If there is a TP with speed camera on the overhead bridge, he won't give a fark whether you are on the leftmost or rightmost lane. As long as you go beyond the speed limit, he'll snap a pic of your car. Simple as that.

Naughtius and I are just asking people to be courteous enough not to block the right lane...Originally posted by sbst275:It seems the speed limit is there for show?Never mind, there's the mobile speed camera...
Just wait for pt demerit and summon
