COE bidding enquiry..

as this is my 1st time buying a new car from importer Pin***** Motor,the se said she will do coe bidding for me for 4 bids..today is supposed to be the 1st time she do the bidding..but how do i know if she really bid for me??she said she got bid but the coe is too high and have to try the next round..does she have any reason to lie to me??can i ask her for prove to show that she really got bid??iam getting the honda airwave..

you can go lta website on the day of bidding to check your bidding with your ic. Normal 1 bit or 2 should get unless the buying price is too low. -
Well i'm quite sure she bidded for you because it's to her advantage if she manages to secure the COE and deliver the car to you. Anyway many people must have walked away disappointed without getting their COEs cos the COE prices shot up by so much.. Singaporeans have an unending appetite for new cars.

I paid a deposit of $500 for a new car to a distributor when the COE dropped to $8K. When the COE rose back to $18K, I was not successful in securing a COE.
My friend recently offered me a very good deal on his used car. I wanted to cancel my order from the dealer and get back my deposit but the SE told me that I must wait for minimum 6 bids.
Pls advise the following :
1. Can I insist to cancel my order and demand they return my $500?
2. As my friend's offer is a very good deal, I am considering forfeiting the $500 deposit. If I forfeit the $500, will they still have any legal recourse to sue me or take any legal action?

Hi, for your Q1, if i am not wrong, u have to refer to the Sales Agreement. But the terms and conditions will usually favour the Car firm. Usually they will forfeit the deposit if the buyer cancel on his part.Originally posted by Fontaine1818:Hi,

For Q2. i think logically speaking, the forfeiture of the $500 will deemed as case closed. therefore i do not think that the Sales Exe will pursue further. -
