  hi all.
  
  buying new cars: would it be better to buy from authorized dealer or any carmart that sell similar parallel import?
  
  buying 2nd hand cars: any good carmart recommendation?
  
  thanks in advance. this will really kick start the first step of me getting a car.

  Haha.. i'm not expert, but I can give my opinion..
  
  It depends on what model of car you want. Some models are not available from the dealers and only available from PIs. One thing to note when u r buying from PIs is that sometimes the models they bring in might be so uncommon that it is difficult to do repairs and find parts. That's why generally people prefer to buy from the dealers because of warranty and after sales services (which is damn bloody ex!).
  
  For carmart, last time I bought my first car from Island Car Trading at second floor of Ubi Auto Megamart. No problems with it... my 2nd car, the less said the better.. too bad I cannot remember the name of the dealer.. otherwise I will sure warn u off them.. I can only remember they are located at Leng Kee..

  wah! middle of the nite u had an inspiration to buy a car so u woke up and post here ah?
  
  anyway.. here is my take.
  
  if the car is available from PI and AD, eg jazz/fit.. would be better to buy from AD
  
  if the car u like is only available from PI, eg toyota ist , then it would be prudent to try and get it at the bigger PIs like eg. richburg/ricardo.. it will cost more, but they r less likely to do anything to jeopardize their reputation.
  
  what kinda budget r u working with and which car(s) r u looking at?

  actually it's depends on how much i wanna tie myself down...
  
  currently looking at axio, mazda3 hatchbck 1.6 on the tighter finance side...
  
  or
  
  swift, lancer or subaru impreza for looser financial burden...
  
  my choices seems very sparse hor...but i like hatchback in general.
  what do you all think?

  I saw it online a couple of weeks bck. i'm not a trend setter,probably will wait for the pioneers to give comments before deciding.

  anyways,the specs look gd.much better than the old sp2.

  oh u meant the myth that all first batchs always have unforeseen problems? for design and cult factor, i would go for the Bb. its vry popular in states n jap and some spot 18inch blings.
