I turning 18 soon and i wanna ask how much will it cost about to get a class 3 license.And how does the system work like.Sorry i noob about all this.

School or Private?
Private tends to be a lot cheaper and easier to get training slots I heard.
But school is more professional I feel. I'm a ex school student, spent 2k.
School students get priority at booking all the tests(theory and practicals) too. Booking of training slots not easy, have to book like 2 months ahead. Mass book 20-30 lessons in advance is like a must, else u cant get lessons later. -
If you're taking school,
$6 for theory test(both basic and final)
From the day you register, there's normally about a month+ gap till you take your BTT(basic).
After you pass your BTT you can go for practicals. You can take FTT concurrently with your practicals. Just make sure you've passed it before your practical test.
$59 for practical(off-peak hours)
$68 (peak hours)
Each practical is 100mins. -

Paiseh there. About school learners. Its not slow learners or what.
If you are school student, compulsory finish 4 lessons, that is around 80$
Then go for theory practice and theory evaluation, if fail theory evaluation, have to take till u pass before u can book for tests. That would be around 30-50$ gone.
Apply for PDL = $25
Then 1 lesson is 100 mins $60
You need to finish till stage 5.01 which I took 20 lessons, you think ur instructor so nice give u so many stamps a lesson? Mine on average 2-3 stamps a lesson which is pretty decent.
Then driving simulator lesson $20.
Then tp practical around $200 with rental and warm up.
What about revision lessons before TP test if your tp test is quite far away since you can only book when u pass FTT and finish stage 1.04? still $60 a lesson.
Riled because spending 2k is like the norm and not because we are slow learners. Its not that easy to get the lessons stamp from the school instructors. -
Take private lah. Give govt earn more money for what? They never suck your blood enough meh? I'd rather pay the private instructor uncle some money for him drink kopi. Anyway I am from private and my instructor is friend introduce one.
But private must be careful, some instructors quite screwed up. Make sure you find those that allow you anytime you not happy just don't go for his lessons without losing out in terms of $ one.
Btw, heard people say the tester will have a higher tendency to close one eye when he sees that the person coming for test is driving a school car. Is it true? -

My private instructor charged me $24 per hour, in total I think it cost me about $800-900 in total to get the licence, I failed the first time

i just got my license from ubi 2 weeks ago. i spent total of about 2 months+ to get mine. (no kidding). i passed the first time and my spendings totaled up to about 1.8 to 1.9k. i took a total of 21 lessons. i tink u will be advised by the instructors there to take about 25 to 30 lessons on average.
i consider myself quite lucky because there was a last min slot available for FTT and i got it. i booked my FTT and had to wait about 2 months after passing my BTT !! but i checked online regularly and just after 2 weeks i found a slot for the test 2 days later. after passing my FTT i went to book tp immediately but i had to wait another 2 months. -.-"" i told some of the instructors about it because i was finishing my modules much earlier than my test date and a particular instructor helped me change it much earlier to early oct. =) im not too sure if this is the right way to do it yeah so i cant reveal his identity though.
but just some advices, enroling in ubi would be better compared to private or other schools. ubi has heavy traffic which is a plus (yes it isnt a downside) bcuz if u can pass there u can be fairly sure of your driving skills. ssdc has long waiting time for tp dates (approx. 6mths) not sure about bbdc though.
the downside for private instructors are they tend to forget about some important pointers which on the other hand school instructors can give. so it really depends on the quality of your private instructor. other downsides are that it has longer waiting time and statistics have shown that for every 2 school passes there is only 1 private pass. (not sure if this is right though)
but if you aint rushing for it, private's a good way to save some money. so good luck to you then!
