Methylated spirits

I have this bottle of methylated spirits (it says 96% ethanol)
Is this safe to use to clean my car. Exterior and interior? -
NOOOOOO,don't try it.!!!!There are many car care products around,sold @ supermarkets,why use Methylated spirits.?

It is a solvent and will "melt" / dissolve the coating of some car parts...

Any suggestions for products to clean and/or polish the outside?
And for cleaning the inside eg. dash, seats.
I used damp cloth, but not clean enough. -
Go hypermart or car care shop can get lots of products.
If you don't want to spend too much money, use dishwashing liquid mix with water and wipe the dashboard.
If you want to polish exterior of car, then I suggest Autoglym. Make circular motions while polishing, not straight lines.
Alternatively, you can go those DIY shop to get those auto polisher. But manual polish gives you a good workout. -
Don't use the "gor kim tiam" hardware shop methylated spirit.
The pharmaceutical methylated spirit is OK for cleaning rubber parts.
Although it won't really damage paintwork rightaway, i just dun like the idea of volatile liquid for paint surface.
Every week when i wash my car, i will drip few drops of Methylated spirit onto a cotton wool and wipe the edge of my wiper. it keeps it from creating scratch lines.
you will be shocked how black your cotton becomes. -
