TOP GEAR Singapore Edition

It's out at the news stands now for $7.50. It still has many of the articles from the GB edition, including Clarkson's and Captain Slow's columns, but not the classifieds.
Anyway if it goes the way of CAR Singapore we can always put it up on eBay a few years later.

Lol.. I tot you were thinking about a SG version of the show.. which would actually be a good idea.. Lol...
But no place for a test track, and don't think anyone would be willing to let their precious cars in SG be thrashed on a track... esp since cars are exp in sg.. insurance cover and all that... lol...
Who's the publisher for it anyway?

I doubt that we can get TV hosts to match the TG trio. The journalists and writers just don't cut it if you compare their writing styles to Clarkson's, May's and Hammond's. -

cos if tt's the case... then no point buying... all the reviews in singapore magazines ranges from neutral to good comments about the car... i nv seen a review tt calls a spade a spade... somehow.. a bad car is alrights la.... mai hiam buay pai attitude...

I also agree some writers just stay neutral about the car.. but I guess in SG society, things run differently... Everyone will want to complain about something, esp when you say bad things about their products...
It's different in the UK, where the BBC actually backs the TG trio... they're just there to provide an honest and usually humourous review of the cars.. and shouldn't be taken too seriously sometimes...
Imagine, if Top Gear aired in SG, and it was the episode where JC made a comment about a muslim... that's it man... Complaints would be coming in the whole week... -

the prob with car reviewers in SG is that they have to be diplomatic as its a kind of a "gesture of good will" for thanking the dealership for loaning them their cars...but in GB...things are different....several car dealers have rejected top gears requests for borrowing their car...take rover for example....but In SG we cant afford to do that...which is sad as we can never really have a "fair" review of cars

Yeah... there's just no replacing the originals... And seriously, I don't think we're even capable of making a good motoring show... Saw the trailer for that show, Four Play... TOTAL TURN OFF... I'd say... screw the good will... its their responsiblity to develop and manufacture good cars... if they can't, its not our fault that the review might be bad... they could just take it as constructive criticism... to make a better car... Even MORE interesting.. apparently, there were 2 different white stigs, there was the first white stig, who drove till around 2004, when his day job got accidentally leaked out and they had to change the stig for safety purposes... and now there's the curent white stig...
