Actually, they do pan the car - only when its replacement appears.Originally posted by n0x:is the magazine of the same writing style as torque or other sg car magazines...
cos if tt's the case... then no point buying... all the reviews in singapore magazines ranges from neutral to good comments about the car... i nv seen a review tt calls a spade a spade... somehow.. a bad car is alrights la.... mai hiam buay pai attitude...
which makes for a boring read... *yawn*...
Hrm.. where'd you see it? I wanna see the articles too...Originally posted by Kuali Baba:Actually, they do pan the car - only when its replacement appears.
Let me read the few articles by a certain Joe Yeo first.
I bought my copy at 7-11 (Citylink), and saw it at MPH and one of the money changers too. IT should be available widely.Originally posted by LH83:Hrm.. where'd you see it? I wanna see the articles too...
tt's one of the major differences btw BBC and mediacock....Originally posted by LH83:Hrm.. where'd you see it? I wanna see the articles too...
I also agree some writers just stay neutral about the car.. but I guess in SG society, things run differently... Everyone will want to complain about something, esp when you say bad things about their products...
It's different in the UK, where the BBC actually backs the TG trio... they're just there to provide an honest and usually humourous review of the cars.. and shouldn't be taken too seriously sometimes...
Imagine, if Top Gear aired in SG, and it was the episode where JC made a comment about a muslim... that's it man... Complaints would be coming in the whole week...

cant get used to it. for me, TOP GEAR is jeremy and gang. Jeremy and gang is TOP GEAR.Originally posted by sand king:no no, as in if there was to be a Top Gear tv show![]()
Yeah... there's just no replacing the originals... And seriously, I don't think we're even capable of making a good motoring show... Saw the trailer for that show, Four Play... TOTAL TURN OFF... Not every car show has to have women oogling over a car, esp when they know NOTHING about the car and look like they're just going "Ooohh.. shiny!!" when they look at it...Originally posted by Pitot:cant get used to it. for me, TOP GEAR is jeremy and gang. I'd say... screw the good will... its their responsiblity to develop and manufacture good cars... if they can't, its not our fault that the review might be bad... they could just take it as constructive criticism... to make a better car... JC and gang always take the mickey out of Vauxhall cars, but you don't see them complaining.. they just develop better cars...Originally posted by AE86tofu:the prob with car reviewers in SG is that they have to be diplomatic as its a kind of a "gesture of good will" for thanking the dealership for loaning them their cars...but in GB...things are different....several car dealers have rejected top gears requests for borrowing their car...take rover for example....but In SG we cant afford to do that...which is sad as we can never really have a "fair" review of cars
Yeah.. if I remember correctly... the Stig was the name of any new kid when Clarkson went to school...Originally posted by MARK1992:Did you know...that the Stig was originally supposed to be called The Gimp?
