If you dad is so fussy and is willing to pay more, don't go to those small tyre shops that will tell you anything.Originally posted by veron soh:My Dad's Camry's tyres is due to change, now running on Falkens ZE512,which is very noisy[like Land Rover running],any brand/model that is REAL quiet.?My dad is sick of those tyres shop, every shop says their brand is good & quiet...but end up,dissapointed...by the way the size is 215/60-16,costs,grip factors are NOT important, just wants some peace cruising...
Made in Japan doesn't mean quiet. On the contrary, many of them are made for good performance grip and hence tend to be noisy. My advice is to go for a compromise.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:If you dad is so fussy and is willing to pay more, don't go to those small tyre shops that will tell you anything.
Maybe STAMFORD TYRES? Get those Made IN Japan and not those Japanese brands manufactured elsewhere.
Michelin is good if you know which to choose..Micheline Energy should be very good for FC but I dunno whether is it quiet or not..Originally posted by BrUtUs:michellin gd?
I go to small tyre shops but he / maybe she says her dad doesn't trust them, and so go Stamford Tyres lor... you don't trust small and don't trust big than what? Drive without tyres?Originally posted by w2k_83:Made in Japan doesn't mean quiet. On the contrary, many of them are made for good performance grip and hence tend to be noisy. Stamford Tyres is just a place to chop carrot head. It is a nice place to see see look look but you can get the same tyres for lower prices elsewhere. Unless you are so enticed by their free towing service, free nitrogen pumping, cheaper wheel balancing and rotation (which is equivalent to others' normal prices), etc...
He goes to STAMFORD for the Falkens, the man there says it is quiet, but turn out more noisier than the Yokohama's he replaced.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:If you dad is so fussy and is willing to pay more, don't go to those small tyre shops that will tell you anything.

But tyres make a lot of difference too..sporty and low-profile tyres will forever be more noisy than high-profile tyres..Originally posted by newcomer:dude, u dad must be driving at a high speed to be able to hear the tyre sound.
actually, to be honest, once u hit the highway, no matter how low the noise u still can hear it cuz out there, it's juz u and the car. even the least audible noise become audible. juz my experience.
