my car is auto.... if the car does not roll off while the gear is in neutral that means the car is ok?Originally posted by the Bear:if your parking brakes can make the car stay still in a slope on neutral (dunno if your car is auto or manual) it should be okay...
it'll just be a little bit worn...

PRO!Originally posted by sexy girls:forget to disengage it totally![]()
yeah lor.... i only realised the handbrake is up when the car doesn't crawl when i didn't step on the accelerator....Originally posted by alleggerita:PRO!
Doesn't your car feel particularly strained? And sinc auto cars will crawl forward when you never step on accelerator, didn't you find it fishy when your car doesn't crawl forwards?
But if the handbrake is fully engaged and yet the car can crawl forwards, means the handbrake getting a little loose i think..![]()
If it was only for a short distance, you probably didn't do any harm to the vehicle. At worst, you probably wore down the brake pads on the rear wheels (the handbrakes on most passenger vehicles are connected only to the rear brakes) a little more than usual, and might have to replace them a bit sooner. Brake pads are normal wear items anyway.Originally posted by sexy girls:i drove for a short distance with the handbrake up.... will anything happen to the car? how come the car is still able to move with the handbrake up?
Then get your handbrake and rear brake pads checked..Originally posted by sexy girls:yeah lor.... i only realised the handbrake is up when the car doesn't crawl when i didn't step on the accelerator....
anyway i feel the handbrake is a bit light leh....
Means TS at the beginning never engage her handbrake fully..Originally posted by xunmengzitu:if in D mode and the handbrake is fully engaged, the car will move meh? i did that before on my corolla, but it doesn't move at all
