Took the trouble to post this article up which was taken from today's Straits Times. Many pple have been asking whether Euro plates are legal a not, ans is below.

what is the little letter 'F' or "D' on the license plate? what do they stand for?

F is for France,
D is for Germany.
Anyway it's the font that's illegal, not the design of the plate itself. As long as you have the legal font, can still have the EU star design on the plate.. only look a bit off only, lol.
what so "un-readable" about the font?

LTA says the font is more difficult to see when the car is in motion.. so like what hit-n-run ah, cannot read the plate properly blahblahblah... then say the font is 10mm more narrow than the standard one...
It kinda makes you wonder, if EU countries have that as standard... and our LTA says its hard to see, they trying to say we all c0ckeyes ah? ![]()
oops..my SM's car has that kind of plates ![]()
I've seen some using M'sian style fonts as well... dunno the reason. Maybe owner got in accident in M'sia and made a new plate there? Anyway this illegal too, right? Or not?
Not legal. Just waiting to be caught only.
Maybe the Euro plates are too small for the speed cameras to see clearly.
