Why do I have to wait three months to take a driving test?

Letter from Tan Hao YangI recently turned 18 and registered to take the Basic Theory Test, the first of two theory tests needed to obtain a driver's licence. I was informed by the driving centre that the next available test date is three months later, in May. The waiting time is apparently no different for the Final Theory Test, for which I can only register after I pass my Basic Theory Test. My question is: Do I really need to wait three months just to sit in front of a computer to take a multiple choice test, only to have to repeat the waiting process again? it is done to prevent less youngsters from taking on the road as if its a grand prix track so early. make the process bitter and enduring. then they'll appreciate the ability to drive legally.

I've gotten my license in a foreign country and I've waited three months or so for the theory test that allows me to obtain my class 3 license

Apparently, the rsources set aside by driving centres for the administering of such tests are not adequate.
However, this also shows that he is so eager to obtain his license that he wrote to the newspapers.

aiya u all pass that stage liao so can say other ppl kan chiong. when u taking ur class 3 or 2b u also curse n swear at the system rite? don't tell me u tell urself, "mm... the garment very good, let us wait long long so that when i pass i will treasure this license n won't speed"

he can always take the test at some other locations.. he tink open test center like opening 7-11... kids...

relax lah this boy. times have changed. now people more affluent, more affordable.. parents throw them their own cars... you even see 40-odd year-olds taking driving lessons!
back in my time(well, jan 2006
), my 1st driving lesson was 3rd jan, 17mar i got my driving license alr.

They try to keep youngsters off the roads cause they believe that youngsters are more prone to speeding and reckless driving...

the system lets U wait and have time to understand the materials rather than just blindly go for the test or just study for the sake of the test.
U can say that people will still do last minute work or watever...but no system is perfect.
And just to answer ur question...when I took my licence 10 years ago...I wasnt in a hurry lor...its not a toy car licence leh...suka suka drive can kill people and go jail one leh...U kill urself nebermind...dun endanger people...so U better get ur foundation right.
Nowadays when I drive on the road...the way some people drive....quite obvious their foundation not there...moving hazard on the road.

actually driving fast is OK to me....as long as their skills are there and they know what they are doing...sometimes can see cars on the road going at 140km/h++...even in own lane also moving a little left and right....at curve even worse....enter the curve at middle lane...exit the curve at right-most lane...then go back to middle lane...

simple...
cuz there are ppl who fail and book date for test again before u and there are newbie who book the test for 1st time...
no way to cut queue....
