i might have damaged it while going over a hump
when cold .. start the engine and briefly put your hand completely over the end of the exhaust pipe .. you should be able to hear if you have a problem as this will force the exhaust through any hole/crack.
go to a workshop and have the car hoisted up and use your eyes to see.
