The Way I See It:
According to the Strategic Unit of Trade & Economic Department, Lorry speeding at the middle lane is not an offend because it contributes to the economy.
Pedestrans please take note, speeding inside a small back lane is also not an offend anymore, becasue according to Strategic Unit of our Culture Ministry, those speed limits signage are Western Culture left over by the British, we don't need to stick them anymore. :D

I'm wondering does the lorry has speed limiter devices
even so, that road speed limit is 70kph although it's on one of the steepest downslope on a main road
A lorry rammed into another in front of it, swiping the second lorry off its lane and then went on to plough into a car, crushing the driver inside to death.
The horrendous accident, which also caused another car and an SBS bus to be hit, happened along Loyang Avenue towards Tampines Road at about 3.30 this afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said the driver of the maroon Toyota car was slowing to a stop at a traffic light junction.
The accident left the vehicle in a twisted ball of metal.
The driver died on the spot.
straitstimes.com was at the scene of the accident.

Freak accident.
Wah... I bet 8858 will be the hot number the coming 4d draw... the clip show that one of the vehicle being towed was this license plate.
Anyway, my friend was involved in another accident that was featured like 2 secs after the report of this accident at 10pm news on channel 8. Lucky only car suffered damage and all passenger in one piece.
The impact must be so great that the whole car was crushed.
Looks like a Perodua.
Actually I quite agree with what this reader had to say.
I have seen heavy vehicles speeding at 80km/h sometimes, wonder why they never catch, if they had been strict in their
enforcement, then such things would have been minimised.
It's extremely dangerous for heavy vehicles to speed, because due to their massive weight, more distance is required
for them to grind to a halt.
That's why when I drive, I never let heavy vehicles follow me closely behind, I will just switch lanes.
The drivers of these heavy vehicles are real arseholes sometimes,
they refuse to give way, even if you have the right of way.
Reason being that they drive these heavy vehicles,
if you collide with them, you are at the losing end.
nah its a EP70 starlet... does take a while to figure it out... u can't really tell where is front or back anymore
damn.
too bad i wasnt dere to see it.
was near dere ![]()

is there a problem with Spore Govt workers? It seemed that they will take action only if there are complaints or something big happen then suddenly they wake up.
take the case of illegal cigarettes peddaling along old woodlands road, petir rd..u dun serously believe they are unaware of these ongoings? why do they have to wait till Straits Times published the reports then the customs etc suudenly sprung to life and started nabbing these pple???
fr wat I see..feedback = useless...only way to make them work is to write to ST, then you will manage to get some PR reply from them...so much for PS21 (i think it stands for Public Service in 21st century) i.e good service?
TP? They are so scarced that I think I may even mistook the "summons aunties" to be the TP, they all .....
"why never catch?"
uhh.. see your last line..
if a couple of TP was around, they'd not speed.. if TP not there, they speed..
like that how to catch??
btw.. everything also blame gabrament?
i know they are not the best, and a lot of them are asswipes.. but do not mistake the civil service for the gabrament.. they are different things.. and also, think about it.. they may be doing a lot of things which you do not know about and everything gets mangled because some asswipes whose names i keep seeing in the newspapers keep writing to the ST Forum and other newspapers about..
i was talking to a few people in the forces.. a few of their investigations went to shit because asswipes write into the newspapers, trying to "advise" the investigators what to do... the investigations were trying to get to the bigwigs.. in the end, after the splashing in the ST Forum and whatnot, the criminal bigwigs decided to burrow deeper, change their MO or just disappear altogether..
as for speeding, it's a matter of personal responsibility right?
or do you want the gabrament to enforce that too.. so that you can accuse them of being fascist? ![]()
someone has died in a tragic accident..
try not to cheapen everything by turning it political?
the victim deserves more dignity than that...

I didn't say anything political, I was quoting the reader's response. Just click on the link in tamago's first post,
the reader made those comments which I posted in red.
The reader was just commenting that when something like this happens, then the police will step up enforcement.
Did I blame the government for what happened?
Can you please point out which part of my statement in black did I mention anything about the government?
The Singapore Police Force is the government now?
I know you have been indoctrinated by our propagandist education system to side P4P,
so the slightest slightest issue to suggest government involvement and your defence system will be activated.
Most of my post I was talking about the speed of heavy vehicles.
You are quite the presumptuous prick aren't you?
I suppose my post in "this brought tears to my eyes" is also political?
If you feel that my post in the speaker's corner has been incorrect,
you can debate me there, instead of keeping your views and anger bottled up,
then throwing an unexpected curve ball at me here.
