Back in October of last year, Nissan unveiled the Intima concept at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. The large front-wheel-drive sedan previewed the styling for the new Teana (above, dark) and more luxurious Teana XV (above, light) that Nissan and its Chinese joint-venture partner Dongfeng debuted at the Auto China show in Beijing. The connection between concept and production vehicle is strong here, with the windswept front fasica, large greenhouse, and kink at the bottom of the C-pillar coming over intact. The flush grille, LED headlamps and suicide doors, however, did not.
The Teana will have a strong link to the western world thanks to the platform on which it rides, which is also shared with the Altima, Maxima and Murano. Power is provided by Nissan's award-winning 3.5L VQ V6 engine, which is mated to a CVT transmission for the Chinese. It appears that a bevy of 2.0 and 2.5L four-cylinder powerplants will also be available when the car goes on sale in late Summer.
Make no mistake, the Teana is a large, luxurious front-wheel-drive sedan, just like the current Maxima here in the U.S. It even features such niceties as a BOSE 5.1-channel surround sound system and Nissan's panoramic sunroof in the XV version.
it also bears alot of resemblances to the current Cefiro 230JM and 350JM.
Expect it to reach SG shores around 2009-2012.(Projected date)
so it gonna go head on with the camry and accord?
Just a facelifted version of the current Cefiro la. Nothing much. Not as if it's a totally new model from the ground up.

I think so.. hmm but i think overall we might need to wait for more specs from Nissan to confirm.
alleggerita.. yes it is a facelifted one.. but it looks more powerful.. will there be a transponder key aka keyless entry?

Keyless entry will probably be an option of the 200JK and 230JM and standard on the 350JM.
improving :D
Keyless entry is already a standard feature in the current 200JK Cefiro.
not bad.. cefiro's was never that popular dunno why. Hope the new models will be way beter. By the looks of it i think its quite good liaw.
i've always wondered about keyless entries. Imagine u walk to ur door n the next thing u know , u find 3 other people sittig in ur car hijacking u as u are just about to close the door .lol
At 1st I also have the same thinking about keyless entries like you, but actually it works the same way as the normal remote entries.
But for most keyless entries, you have to stand 1 arm length away from your vehicle before it will actually unlock.
the moment u stand 1 arm lengths away n the car unlocks, u see 4 dudes jumping out from the bushes beside ur car. Game over. unless the car has auto lock the instant u close the door with u inside the car. Or only unlocks drivers side. =S
I think the new Accord would be a better choice then the Cefiro
