the new honda jazz is here.. design wise and engine cap is same as fit..
but some extra features that fit does not have is
- Full disc brake that fit does not have
- paddle shift for all jazz models (1.3 and 1.5) and fit does not have for any models
- stock fog lamps
- body kit
i was considering buying fit this weekend but lucky the ad came quick..
i will wait for awhile considering jazz instead for the extra features..
the price will sure drop within fit and jazz..
again honda leads the segment again...
first with a 5AT in the civic in the midsize saloon segment...
now with all wheel discs in the small hatch segment...
Paddle-shift for its 7-speed CVT? Live the F1 dream! ![]()
Oh, sorry. My bad. I didn't realise the new Jazz/Fit is fitted with a 5-speed auto gearbox.
But I don't understand why! If the Jazz is all about fuel efficiency, why is Honda taking a step back by fitting a fuel-sapping torque convertor gearbox? ![]()
new jazz is nice but i think mazda 2 can give it a run for its money

in terms of looks only...
spec-wise... no way...
spec wise honda jazz lead the industry... but the price of honda jazz is abit steep..

But you get Honda's bombproof reliability. My uncle used to drive the Honda Jazz before he changed over to his S40. And for his 2 years of ownership there isn't a single problem. Unlike his problematic S40. ![]()

The new Jazz sold by KM is fitted with a 5 speed autobox, however the new Fit from PIs are sold with a CVT gearbox.
jux went doen to km yesterday.. order now take delivery only in november!
i was like wtf?!?!
how to wait leh.. the reason was because only in sept production will start under euro r spec.. tats wat the sales exec told me la..
and to add on, its full sport rims for both 1.3 and 1.5 jazz..
and only 1.5 got sky roof..
What? You mean there will be Euro-R version of the Jazz?

Which is like quite dumb right? They know torque convertor will increase fuel consumption and yet they chose to bring in the 5-speed AT instead of the CVT. No wonder everyone going to get it at PIs. ![]()

Actually if it were me, i will choose to go for the 5 speed AT jazz. Having driven the previous fit, i can't stand the CVT gearbox. Not everyone's priority is about FC i guess.
Actually I don't find anything wrong with the CVT. It helps keep the engine constantly in the best powerband. But it's just weird when you don't hear it changing gears. Maybe that's why you prefer the 5AT? ![]()
Some CVTs also include a torque converter, but I'm not sure about this one.

yea that's 1 point. hahaha
Another point would be that during kick down it lags lah, don't get the power when u want it. If i remembered correctly the tachometer barely went pass 4k rpm even during kick down.
The only thing i like about a CVT gearbox is the low RPM during high speed cruising. I don't know but some small CC cars i've driven, 3k rpm @ 100km/h, which just doesn't do it for me. I'm not too sure about the new Jazz though, since it's coupled with a fifth gear ratio.
how come no pics?? is it possible to show some pics..thks

I think it's belt slip, that's why kick down so laggy? Belt slipping is CVT's trademark, but heard it is improving? ![]()
For me, this would be the better choice over the Fit. Personally, I would get the 1.5 MT Jazz. And with the 1.5 MT Fit being over 70 grand, it would make lotsa sense to get the Jazz, thats if you are looking @ the 1.5 MT. And 5AT would definitely 'feel' better than a CVT, imho.

no... if u consider tt the civic is using a 5AT too...
so if u will go do some research... (cos i cant find any info myself LOL)
and see if both the transmission boxes are the same...
if they are.. then it makes perfect economic sense..
the same reason why there was a time mazdamotors upgraded all mazda 3 with disc brakes...

Economic sense for the company, but not for the customer's pocket right? ![]()
