i would be taking 10 year loan and thus having to pay abt 1.2k p/m for the car only. as im new in singapore i was wondering approx how much more i would have to pay for petrol, road tax, insurance etc per month. the agent told me 350z does abt 11km/pl but i cant seem to believe him since its a 3.5l engine. u guys think i would be crazy to budget abt 1.5 p/m for this car?
would really appreciate any feedbacks. thanks.
cheers.

yesh... its totally crazy....
u would at least have to budget 2k per month for this car and this is juz a conservative estimate...
from what u written.. signing 10 yr loan and all.. i wld best suggest u not get this car as u r financially not ready...
suggest u not to. You will end up being the agent jail bird....
Your budget you calculated is not even near.. and its at least 2K, probaby 2.5k will be a SAFE-zone for you.... Dont just calculate the bare min, you dont know what will happen later on... like petrol increase... etc... or accident (Touch wood)
As n0x had suggested, i agreed not to buy, if you dont have the money. 10year loan is also not a very wise thing to do... Normally go for 5 or 7 years loan (to save some money)
A 10 years loan is very handicapping/restrictive btw if u want to change the car in the future
Wow my fav car...yeah i agree...do note that it will be a liability if its a 10 year loan and in between you may want to change your car, unless you are financially stable...you may consider...
thanks for the quick reply guys. i actually had my figures crossed as i wrote the post. i guess u guys r right coz i calculated with the interest it would be at least 2k with all the taxes and petrol.
a colleague told me to go for a 3-4 yrs old car since i only to drive it for abt 2 yrs - and that the loss would be minimal. i saw some 2004 350z selling around 80-90k and with abt 46k OMV on sgcarmart. so im guessing those are with 6yrs loans. u guys think thats something i could consider with my budget? and is anyone able to comment on the fuel consumption on sg roads on this car?
@ fairlady - i see where u got that nick from and ive been dreaming to own this car ever since it came out. quite sad that cars in sg are so expensive - heartbreaking for car freaks like myself really.
cheers.
well cars in spore are ex becaz there arent many rds to run them, i too feel ur pain as i'm a carlover too. thoughts of upgrading my 2.5 to 3.7,but the road tax is just too ...well ,taxing...
well back to u, for a 130k car for 10yrs, u r looking at 1.4k p/m for instalments(at roughly 2.8% int). FC would be about high 7s to low 9s km/l,so i reckon petrol at current prices would set u back at 500p/m. parking? well if u stay landed then its included,if not roughly at 80p/m for hdb/condo(est,after minus pool/guard maintenance). well thats nearly 2k...
the real killer in ur budget would be rd tax n insurance n maintenance. road tax would be 4k a yr,ins around 3-5k depending on many factors which i would not elaborate..so about 600p/m. and tyres,if u running 18(most of Zs are),then be prepared to spend 1.5k on tyres. be advised that the cabrio doesnt run on brembos,so i would advise u to go for coupe unless u really dig the air in ur face n warm weather.
so all in,a healthy budget of 2.6k would be suffice if u are not into modding n am happy wif stock conditions. i recommend u down at least 20k n take loan periods according to how long u r prepared to keep the car till u itch again. u can go to the fairlady forum to ask around for more advise, tink they are better to advise u.

i dun tune.. totally stock...
urs 600?? tt's pretty scary...
back in my poly days, petrol was $1.60.. my billl hit $732 for 1 particular month.. lol.. i still laminated that bill and paste right on my notice board :p
anyway.. now different liao.. car usage much lesser.. its either abt $480 - $600 a mth now..
1 tank per week! each time fill up can cry..
hope water powered cars will be available economically soon.. even if 1 tank lasts for 150-200km.. it will prob cost $10 per tank or lesser! good bye petrol..

lol think i read your post wrongly. mine around 4-5 days drop till last bar before i top up. bloody digital meter i dont trust. 2.5L, 70litre tank. 600 is considered quite good already la. but shared between my dad and me. so not so bad after all.

lol for a 2.5 its not that bad i feel. some of my car club members spend more than me per month. all boils down to driving style, when my dad use, his mileage will be around 30+km different from mine, he's quite heavy footed.
What the hell is a reconditioned vehicle??? And why is it so cheap??
