  hi anyone drving a 98' lancer 1.3m..hw does the O/D function in the car works? thanks

  think the main purpose of O/D(overdrive) is to lower the rev and save fuel when cruising.

  correct me if i m wrong...tink it is for travelling long distances..once u use e O/D u can release ur accelerator n yet e car will remain at its speed till u depress e brake..by depressing e brake e O/D will b deactivated..and oso it can b use to gif u more power when over taking other cars...

  mine is a manual car so i was wondering hw do i activate the O/D as auto cars there's norm a button on the gear shift but i cant seems to find mine..btw if i'm nt wrong when the O/D word is displayed means its nt activated so i assumed mine is nt and when i travel at 100km/h the rev if 3000 which is i think quite high.

  hmm...manual cars oso got O/D function?? this i relli dunno ler..pardon me 4 being a frog in e well...coz i oni noe of O/D function in auto cars..anyway i tink if ur O/D function is activated den it shld b displayed mah...juz like if u din fasten ur seat belt it will b displayed..if u travel @ 100km/h n ur rev is abt 3000...i tink mabbi got sometink to do wif ur idling speed...e normal idling speed is between 500 to 800...mabbi ur idling speed is higher hence ur rev is higher..but i tink if u travel @100km/h n ur rev is between 2800 to 3000 is ok...juz my 2cents worth...i may not b correct..lastly u actually can read ur car's manual to know more abt ur car's function..
