Do drivers who drive at night with their high beam on throughout affect you when driving as the light is quite dazzling? Any idea why these fellas must on their high beam for no apparent reason while driving at night? Forget to off? Can't see? Or are they just plain idiots?
sometimes I suspect some are using white light
Those are plain idiots who dont know that they turned it on,or either turned it on with ignorance.
Unless,of course, u happpen to be a road hogger which i think the highbeam is good enough to pass a message ![]()
And now, there's the era of bi-xenon HID .. so be careful of being in mercy of the near-instantous activation HID highbeam, which is even more glaring than the halogen counterpart ![]()
There is absolutely no use for high beams of fog lamps in our well lit streets. There ain't any fog to worry about, our streets are all lighted. Those people who activate these unnecessary lamps are either showing off, want to be an idiot and irritate people or forget to switch them off.
Most people would fall under the first 2 category.
The high beam is reserved for road mofos, hoggers and extremely dim road conditions, in the same order. Fog lights are on whenever headlights are on, for vanity, decorative purposes. Nope, the fog lights are dipped and dimmer than headlights, not glaring at all.
Apart from that, whether high beam or not, I find drivers with HID/white lights on any other night especially inconsiderate towards other road users. There is no use for HID lights, they should be banned because they are road hazards.
Method 1) When there is opportunity for these mofos to overtake, don't hesitate, switch on the high beam and follow until they switch lanes.
Method 2) If there is no opportunity to overtake, intermittent irritating braking, until they switch lanes and overtake.
When these mofos overtake, use Method 1.

I usually dodge the glare by changing lanes or moving further ahead.
A dangerous and common scenario though, is stopping at the red light with those things shining directly from the opposite traffic waiting to turn right, that is the worst.
It really pierces the eyes causing brief blindness. You are stationary and stuck, but cannot keep from looking straight because there is the green light, pedestrians and surrounding conditions to think about.
It is no different from shining a HID flashlight at someone moments before he crosses the road.
There's no such thing as white light - its HID ![]()
Controlled HID aint glaring...the angle even at the maximium legal angle(on the manual switch) is around the bottom bumper area..so glaring HID is usually from those who have illegally retrofitted their halogen bulbs with HID..and usually its reflector-based lamp that cause the most glare. And no point trying to ban it..its a premium feature found in few cars and anyway,it's going to be more strict in 2010 when HID has to be automatically angled with no manual control at all.
And i dont recommend attacking them back...even with ur halogen highbeam,u will be at mercy of the HID one which is far more blinding when they counter-attack ![]()
