it's definetely affordable, converting car to CNG cost only around 4k..

Stupid govt tax diesel car so high! Now diesel engines are much more fuel effcient than petrol engines. Diesel engines are also more powerful (more torque) in city driving. Since in S'pore, its cheaper to pump diesel than petrol, diesel car is currently the best choice. So why aren't people buying diesel cars?
There is very few diesel cars on the market. Whose fault? GOVT!
Why govt fault? I'll explain now.... Even got alot of diesel cars on the market, very few pple will buy becoz of the stupid tax structure whereby $1.25 is taxed per 1cc. You take a 2 litre turbo diesel (which is normal in european countries), that will be $2500 per year in road tax alone!
Nobody want to buy means dealers here don't want to sell. Those people who really want fuel efficient diesel engine are only left with a very small amount of cars to choose from. Whose fault? GOVT!
As you can see, govt plays a big role in 'green cars' and fuel efficent cars. Don't blame the technology, blame the govt. -
If they really do so much to care for the environment then they should not impose these fees. Its a contradiction.
