wad u mean how long to get a bike? 1st hand bike, for 2b abit not worth it unless u play with cub kia or thouse fc saving bike. if u want go for sport bike sp kr, no 1st hand. but kr got more recent 1. for 1st hand bike, i think u just go to shop, say u want this fire phantom edition (08 version), they tell u few days, maybe longer than 2nd hand bike. they service ur bike and process other stuff. like coeroad tax etc.
looks wise hard to say, some people prefer sp, some prefer kr. but to me, i ride sp so i say i prefer sp la. ![]()
and got instalment plans. but u must have a guarantor, 21yo and above. but no matter wad, must have $$ for downpayment which is ur insurance. say u around our age, 19+, u get sp, now maybe ur insurance lets say around, 650$? so u just go to shop with guarantor, bring 650$, say u want this bike sp, do paperwork. u can choose 1yr - 5 yr.
1 yr less interest, 5 year more interest. but dont take too long, bo hua. u take 1 sp 2k+ pay 5 years, seriously abit not worth it. so around 1 - 2 years should be ok.
any shop to intro me for 2nd hand sp ?
or anyone selling em to intro?
alot of shop selling. go here, http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=95
thats is for buying from forumners.
may be cheap, but maybe rosak.
may be cheap, but maybe very power.
or u can buy from shop, more expensive, but they average.
but i heard from shops you can pay by installment rite? those 2nd hands
You can use the bikeshop instalments or you can get loans from finance companies and pay installments.
bikeshop usually very exp leh... and they like to chop ur carrot head too. get from www.singaporebikes.com/forums from reputable forumers. definitely cheaper cuz u get direct from owner.
I dont think that TS will follow any advise that is given.
Just take note, that as a new 2 b licence holder, please have at least 2k cash available if you want to buy any bike. And I mean CASH. Not for installment or the deposit for the bike.
u wan cheap, get a non fairing bike for starters.. insurance is cheaper then fairing bike. If you are below 25 + P plate + fairing bike.. insurance is expensive. I'm not really sure how much is it. Ask singaporebikeforums ppl.. :)
Which is why I tell the TS to ahve 2k cash available that is not related to the deposit or the installments.
TS most likely need about 1k for the insurance, another 1k for the roadtax, transfer fees, towing fees, servicing, ERP unit, new tyres, servicing/overhaul. petrol, parking coupon, season parking & cash card.
insurance can pay by installment so ur first payment should be below $100
hmm. so if i wan to have a bike + everything. i gotta have 4k cash?

that is if u pay by full cash. but 4k? i think more than enough. what i think vk is trying to say is, u never know what problem ur bike is going to have. at least if u are riding halfway, and ur tyre kena punctured, u still have the $$ to change it. think u otr pay only 2.9k?
Let me give you an example.
I bought a laid off honda wave for S$800/-
Towing the bike from a carpark in AMK to my preferred workshop, servicing of the bike, towing the bike for inspection, bike transfer fees, Road tax altogether is about $300.
I purchased 2nd party insurance (its actual name is 3rd party with fire & theft) for $249 (Its so cheap because i am above 31 year old & my licence isnt new.)
So TS, you make your calculation to see what you can afford and what you might want to get.
dudes, I've a question. How much are AX plates worth?

Depends on the buyer. And also depends on the number. people may buy it for $30 to $10,000.
