I'm now reading The New Highway Code Book 1: Basic Theory of Driving, Section 3 Yellow-Box junction page 72:-
There are 3 exceptions to the yellow-box junction rule
The first one is Situation 1, This involves vehicles vehicles having to wait in the yellow-box whilst making a left or right turn because of padestrian crossing the road. Above diagram. The vehicle may enter the yellow-box area although they cannot complete their left or right turn due to padestrian using the crossing.
I believe this should be the same for the article... Though, I haven get my class 3 yet...

that is not a junction, that is a pedestrian crossing. so you are not suppose to be in that yellow box. it is there for buses to exit onto the main road from the bus stop.
i read the comment from TP and cant help but laugh.
u try this during ur TP test during ur class 3, confirm immediate failure.
get used to it, this is the singapore spirit.

Don't be surprise to find a lot of retards in Singapore.I don't believe the education system has failed those retards, but it's more to do with their upbringing that caused them to be retarded.

Anyway, Don't you find it a little too funny the way "Police" replied to stomp...? I starting to thing that the "police" here is fiction or stomp decided to ommit a few thing from their response...

i was told by my driving instructor not to do that specifically during my L plate days, learners at Ubi would be familiar with this, before the red light there is a yellow box for buses to exit the bus bay, if u get stuck at the box when its red, its immediate failure, if u chiong red, also immediate failure, so LPPL.
But rules are dead, i dont give a hoot. its just that the police shouldnt be the ones who think this way as seen by many as the law enforcer......

and err, advance theory dont even talk abt this issue if memory serves me right...
the key issue here is that the yellow box is before the stop line of the traffic light, and it is not a junction. so ur picture on the first post is moot.

its ridiculous to put a box right at the pedestrain cross area.
you drive drive drive. suddenly the light turns amber. you can stop in time at the stop line but you'll be in the box. if you rush, you'll beat the red. crap. at least put an allowance for 1 car la.

They police mah, can do anything they want. It is also why TPs are one of the main enemies of Singaporean Drivers.

with a bus lane on the left, i believe more buses will go straight than turn right at the junction ahead. even if a bus comes out. there'll still be enough space behind. so no obstruction!

no obstruction at behind got space for bus to pass thru, and further more, there's no bus at that point of time...
