If I get a second hand car for $9000 now, with COE covered until 2011 and roadtax til the end of this year. Do you think its worth it? Was thinking of getting maybe a Honda Civic ESI from SgCarMart.
After I get my license that is, probably before the end of this year or early next year. Anyone?

You do know that the ESI is a very old model, and might not be as reliable? Do you have the money to pay for the insurance premium as you are a new driver? Have you set aside money for repairs as the car might crop up maintanence and reliability problems?. You just pass your driving license, are you sure u want to drive a car that does not have ABS, EBD, airbag? Are you sure you can handle the car? We don't want a repeat of the Jerlyn incident ya know.
Anyway Temasek Poly got parking space meh? the few times i go there the carpark always seem to be full. Don't know whether is the lecturers very rich all can afford cars or the students that are rich.
Damn. I never consider that. Suppose I can fork out 30k, what kind of car can I expect to get?

Would you consider OPC car? If not for that kind of money, very hard to find reasonable cars, unless you consider 2nd hand cars such as the Picanto, Getz, Accent, Rio, China cars, etc or some of the older 1.6s such as Sunny and Lancer.

Personally i would pick the 2004-2006s 1.6s. Not that the compact category of Spark/Getz/Picanto is anything wrong, but sometimes for practical reasons u might need the space to ferry people or the boot to move things around. Then again, arn't you a student? why would you need a car? to drive to and fro home to school?
