Okay, here's a better view of the 2 comparison

Specs are Specs.. i think one best advice is to go down personally and test drive the indicated cars. The handling and personal opinion counts more than mere specifications ![]()
the merc has a bigger engine capacity, but audi seems to have better acceleration. but like wat cookie say, it all boils down to personal preference.
drive the audi. In singapore, the sheltered carparks are so cramped and small and catered towards 1600cc cars.

Probably because the audi is almost 200kg lighter than the merc.. TS, you do know both the cars you are comparing (A4 vs CLK) are both very different cars? One of them is a 4 door sedan while the other is a 2 door cabriolet..

?? The Audi A4 is not exactly small either.. If you notice the LWH comparison, the Audi is longer, wider, and taller than the Merc leh...

ok my bad.
Anyway, unless TS is a really good driver, its not recommended that he get such a big car.

Yea, U-turning on a 2 lane with cars at the side can be a huge hassle.

Yeah, furthermore our TS is still a teen student and still taking his license.. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I think maybe it would be more prudent for a young and new driver not to drive these slightly higher powered cars..
Actually the point is not whether which car is better or what not. I just wanted to know how to compare Engine Torque and stuffs, so I got two random cars off and compared.

Of all the random cars, you picked and Audi and a Merc? How about picking ANOTHER 2 RANDOM cars ? ![]()

erhm, whats your point ? if he chose another 2 random cars, will you be able to answer his questions?

The other posts more or less answered his question.

hmm i beg to differ. i drove a prado immediately once i got my license. i got so used to the size of the car that when i changed to the mark x which im currently driving, it helped alot.
but for those who r not confident, i think they shld just stick to a regular 1600cc car.

The original MX5 of the 90s were smaller and more nimble compared to the latest ones.
I remember sitting in one and my forehead exceeded the height of the windshield. Hence i could only drive it top down.
