It's due to increase competition of other models from other brands; hence the sales dropped and its production was therefore discontinued in Japan from 2006. However, all is not lost. Sources from the net revealed that a brand new 2009 Celica might hit Europe soon. Whether it arrives on our shores is still a mystery so Celica fans out there ... keep your fingers crossed.
