The new Panamera is hardly a thing of beauty. The bonnet creases and trailing side vents are very un-Porsche. At least there's no mistaking it for anything other than a Panamera from behind. The TT-esque back doesn't sit at ease with the mass of the car from the rear-3/4s.

Hey, whaddaya know - they ran a steamroller over a Cayenne. Still ugly as a dog's butt. ![]()
Well... afterall it's Porsche first sedan based car...so it's bound to raise criticisms.
Still, the overall design, in my viewpoint, is not too bad.
Definitely the ugliest Porsche to-date. Watz up with them? Recently lack of inovation and poor design is a real disappointment.
This just remind me of the Chrysler Cross Fire
The similarity is the inevitable result of the fastback design and the strong shoulder sculpting. There are enough differences to set them apart.
What makes it IP infringement is if it's blatantly grafted on with no consideration of the rest of the design, with the sole intention of making money from the similarity to the established model, as seen in Pitot's thread.

true... u can argue that based on aerodynamics constraints...
so they adopt a relatively common design which even this is using:

likened to a squatting dog by JC and co.
on the whole... to come up with something so uninspiring as this.... i think porsche is juz resting on its laurels... as with all its other cars... their design ideas has staganated for as long as i can remember...
do remember that at the end of the day, it is primarily going up against this:

and mercedes came up with this a few years back...
The CLS still looks too tight and "melted" at the back, while the Passat CC is just a melted Passat all over. 4-door "coupés" are hopefully a fad.
I suppose both the CLS and the C30 have the "love-it-or-hate-it" looks.
