Correct me if I'm wrong but most cars in singapore would be scrapped or exported but why implement such a policy?
I heard it from somewhere that it is to prevent overload of cars here in Singapore. Singapore is already small, and it cannot accomodate too much cars here, so that policy is to help control the population of cars.
Don't know how true this is.

Yup....most cars that are old will be exported to other countries...those newer ones typically less than 3 years old will be sold in the second-hand car market...
Well...our island is small and it isn't possible to contain all in 1 tiny island....I feel it isn't really a policy but it's a great way to dispose of unwanted cars since most local car buyers dun really want their old cars back...
