Hi guys,
I have booked a picanto last month but i am still undecisive which package to get. The SE told me to think first then let him know.
package 1, $2000 voucher
package 2, DVD player + GPS
package 3, $800 insurance rebate + reverse LCD
initially, i opted for package 3. but later i think maybe i can do more with the $2000 voucher. i called the SE, and he quoted me $700 for leather seats and $800 for sport rims. I think he buffered the prices.
i am also thinking of adding reverse sensor, solar film and alarm.
does this picanto comes with remote lock?
need your advices on what i can get with $2000 voucher what are the market prices for those above mentioned items.
thank u :>
Wats the price u were offered?
I rem my SE mentioned the same price for leather and rims. U check your insurance premium how much u nid to pay...if u are young and nid to pay high premium, opt for (3) and bargain for ur leather seats and rims... if not, the best deal will the $2k vouchers. Personally i dun tink DVD and GPS is useful for cars in SG.
$2k vouchers u can actually get rims, leather seats, alarm, rev sensor. Try to bargain for solar film, if else fails, extra 6mths rd tax. Ask for Visors too...
For the rims i tink chg to a third party rims will be nicer and stable...stock rims too thin...
I will also go for Package 3....
Still.....insurance, road tax or instalments rebates are better...can save money.....
i booked opc picanto when the price was $29999. but the final price (less ARF, less COE) will only be confirmed when i get the coe.
btw i also posted the same question at onemotoring forum, some1 mentioned alarm and reverse sensor are actually stock, really?
Y did u book opc when the price is so cheap nowadays...
Anybody got the coe bidding yesterday?

2 biddings liao, still cannot get
can i ask for the refund of my $1000 deposit?
i think i dun want to wait like that, i dun want the picanto liao
Oh... i work in city area and i have a motorbike. i dont intend to drive to work due to congestions, high parking rates and erp.yes, i did think abt getting normal car when the price was low. but after some calculations, the maintenance cost will be high if i drive to work. the opc is more for weekend and nite outings, or when i go marketing.
yes, though i can afford a normal car but i rather save up the extra maintenance cost.
it's very economical to ride bike.free parking, $1 erp, can squeeze throught congestions, and also 40km/l fuel.

Oh I see.. if that's the case, then OPC is better for you...save save save...

what is the price u r paying?
if u hv no cashflow problem, just wait lor. like me. i was very excited at the 1st coe bid. even called the SE for the outcome. now i dont even bother to call the SE, and the SE also nvr call me after the 2nd bid. i suspect they dint even bid for us.
then maybe till 5-6th bid then geh geh kangchiong ask us whether want to top-up for guarantee coe.
when i booked the picanto, the price was very low. thus profit margin is small. they just trying to play waiting and let us kangchiong then ask us to top-up for guarantee coe so that they can earn more.
dont buy opc. Spend a few k more and you can drive your car anytime.

i also think they nvr bid for us
ccb then i have to wait for 12 weeks
actually if i can take back the $1000 i may want to buy the swift now
now must see the timing
when they return me the $1000
i see the swift is how much

mine was 29999$ too.
y suddenly change of mind to get swift leh? but i agree swift is more appealing than picanto. :)
initially swift was in my shopping list too. but later think i just want a reliable basic 4-wheels transport, so i picked pica.

so i thot i will slpurge on the swift lor
but actually i really shouldn't be getting any car if I am rational
becos i work in town

ic... i hv a fren who work in town area too. he drives a normal car. however, due to congestions, erp(s) and parking fees, he end up taking mrt.
still unwilling to convert his car to opc because he think he may (sometimes) want to drive during peak times..... like saturday before 3pm...
so his driving style is like 70% off-peak, 30% peak. but still paying nornal car cost.
yah...work in town better dun drive...carpark charges can kill u...
Y buy swift...the interior is almost as small as pica..but the price is like 10k more than pica..not worth it...
dun top up the coe man...dun worry..with the market nowadays...they will sell u the car...worse comes to worse...if they cant bid the coe for u..they may even give u the open cat to secure ur deal...
I think Suzuki Swift is still ok for me within $50k odd....Pretty common pricing for Japanese cars on the market....
It just looks rather feminine though....
The Jazz is a real killer.... So nice yet so ex...
A 1.3(A) is around $60000!!! Siao....

I hate Cat E..... because for vehicles registered using Open Category COEs, the rebate will be based on the QP of either the Open Category, or its corresponding category, from the same tender exercise, whichever is lower....
But since the price you pay will not change no matter wat cat ur SE gives u...it doesnt matter if u are not asked to top up..so if ur car Cat is abt same price as Cat E, u dun suffer much loss...
For 50K u could get larger sedans like Lancer or Vios, which can be sporty looking with bodykits...The appearance of swift is ok oni...unless u r toking abt swift sports...which cost abt same as a Jazz/Fit.
hey i've got a red Picanto with black leather seats, sports rim, remote lock, change the gear stick for take over.. interested? Balance 59 mths $277. Just do a transfer..

For the difference in category pricing....well....the difference isn't too large for now....If you see previous months, you would know what I mean...
The old Lancer GLX has poor fuel consumption and new Lancer EX costs around the same as Jazz.... The Vios, in my opinion, has near perfect interior but near zero exterior.... I still like the Jazz/Fit overall... Hehe....![]()
Haha ok..
