anyone have a phobia of driving? If yes was it before you even started driving lessons or when you already got your license? How did you handle the first time you drove alone without instructors/friends by your side?
I am intending to start driving lessons soon so i need to curb my phobia a.s.a.p because once i pass i will definately get a car
What are/were your driving phobias?
is being more mobile so scary?? ![]()
my driving phobia is to drive near a female driver....
whahahaha
today(friday) i had to ebrake from 70km/h to what, 10km/h?
driving along new upper changi road east.. near the MRT depot towards tanah merah mrt.. i was on lane 3. there was a lancer on lane 2.. the lancer was beside me, just a little bit infront. i guess i was in its blindspot. but i was moving faster as he was slow on lane 2.
suddenly, the lancer moved left and was within inches with me. i ebrake & blast horn. lucky cars behind also brake. the dude sped off. my heart skipped a beat.

My phobias:
1) Driving through narrow roads/pathways.
2) Anything that has to do with scratching the car.
3) Having to lose control of the car.
How to overcome it? Just drive slowly and carefully, but not to a point where you are considered as hogging the road. :D
it's all in the mind q:
the only phobia i had while learning to drive is stalling the whole damn car on the roads, but after it happened a few times i just got used to being horned by taxis and all; it's like, hey i'm still learning ain't i?
just face it :D

no, not yet....
and also scared that what if the car breaks down in the middle of expressway..ha ha.
I got phobias parking vertical once i got my licence. On my first day, i bang into a wall when parking!!! Ever since then, I check every single mirror when parking.
There's also once i almost had an accident when checking my blind spot. I checked my side mirror for blind spot. I saw a car coming up from behind. Once the car is not in sight in the mirror, i started to change lane. Lucky my dad pull back the steering wheel. As i forgotten that the car is beside me! The car haven't pass by me. Even since then, i remember to wait for the car to pass by me when it is not in sight of the side mirror.
And lastly, not really phobia but is a kind of dislike. Don like to drive when it is peak hour or there's alot of cars. E.g. Places like geylang. Which is always crowded!
i just typed my post this early morning and i read abt the toyota picnic along the NS highway, the mother & son died as the lorry swerved and side-crashed with the car.
if yday was a lorry and it swerved, i'd be gone.
i think TS should play arcade games first. how to be a good driver if you have a phobia of driving? and driving at geylang is so fun, i like.
My phobias:
1. Parallel Parking.
2. Also dun drive in Geylang, Chinatown and Orchard areas.
i quite scared actually
i haben started any lessons yet though
suddenly many lives are on ur hands leh when u are on the road
Phobia of forgetting to put cashcard in IU and then go past an ERP gantry. Otherwise no phobia in driving in Sg.

I really think that you shouldn't encourage him to play arcade games. There is no arcade games that can relate to real life stimulations.
