Hi folks,
my car jerks a little when I trying to move out from parking lot when i shift the auto gear from parked position to reverse then to neutral then to D mode.
I notice that maybe when I press the brakes harder, this would not happen.
Would anything be damaged or is this a symptom of a problem with the car?
Have you experienced the same?
thanks in advance.

oh, thats comforting to know. thanks! :)
you might try warming up your car longer (switch on engine and wait). I notice it reduces or disappears once the engine has been running for awhile.

why do you have to move to neutral before D mode? i usually go straight to D, is that wrong?

What I meant was to reach D mode, it passes by the neutral. :) I usually do this action in a controlled way , not too fast.

Yeah, don't shift your gear stick like a manual, do it naturally. At least thats what I do. :)
It's perfectly normal. Reason is simple. As you peeps know, an automatic gearbox is also known as a torque convertor. It multiplies torque even at a standstill. That's the reason why the car creeps forward when you are not even accelerating during standstill.
So when you step on the brake to shift the gearstick from 'P' to 'D', the engine gets engaged to the torque convertor, and the car has the "urge" to creep forward. And thus the car will jerk a little. And it's perfectly normal.
The jerking is because of gear engaging...

I think so too.. just engage in a normal way...
