Which one is better?
After I've seen both cars on their websites, I think I want to drive the twin-charged TSI Golf.
And should I go for Manual or Automatic?
I'm currently driving a manual car at the moment.
Please advise.
1.4 TSI auto!
if u drive efficiently, FC would be good with this car.
Civic 1.8 FD1 Auto
Golf for you.
Hey, I am actually looking at that same option as you. Honda Civic or the Golf TSI.
So what's your decision?
I really like Golf but I cant afford the GT Sports or GTI, I dont really want to go beyond 1.6l too. But at that prize I can actually get Civic 1.8, so dilemma.
Appreciate any feedback or review here on the Golf 1.4 TSI with new 7speed DSG.
Thanks!

There is one article on CarBuyer on the 1.4 TSI.
I had the same questions early this year when the COE price started coming down.
I've been a Honda person for more than 10 years. In March this year, I traded in my 6 year old Honda Civic for a Golf GT Sport. One of the reason's I didn't like the new civic was because the seating position was quite low even with the seat all the way up. Could be a silly reason for most people :). And the fact that there are a dime a dozen Civics on the road.
The Golf is my first conti car... and I absolutely love it. The Golf IS DIFFERENT. It's kind of hard to compare it to a Civic. It is so easy to think of it as a sports car when in fact it is not. It picks up to 100 km/h so easily when you still think it's could be doing 60. A lot of power when you need it but with as much fuel economy as my old Civic. Road tax is also cheaper because of the 1.4L engine.
It's gonna be very difficult for me to go back to a Japanese car after this. The Golf is expensive though. I was lucky to get it during the sale at 82.8k from VW. Very happy with the Golf.
The New Golf TSI looks attractive man.... perhaps I might change my dream car to that.. lol...

i guess 82.8k for a 1.4 twin turbo is lot of money..
but 1 reason why there is so much power in the golf is because of the speed torque graph. if im not wrong, there should be a flat torque over some rpm range.
Cheer.

if you wanna get a civic1.8? will you consider avante 2.0 instead??
Golf. It has more class.
Golf GTI Turbo!
Volks not bad also.
Advise so many car liaw still undecided ?
The new Golf is lovely....
If you ain't over 24, don't even think of the Golf GTI. There's a minimum age limit before you can get the Golf GTI.

I definitely did not make this up. My friend wanted to get it, he's only 20. And that was what the VW sales agent told him.
Just the Golf TSI attracts me already....
