Singapore drivers now have the added option of choosing the Regular 92 with Techron, a 92-octane petrol launched by Caltex.
The product costs $1.459 per litre of petrol.
Caltex says it will roll out this option progressively to all Caltex service stations island-wide from now till 24th of March.
With the introduction of Regular 92 with Techron, Caltex will discontinue Gold with Techron, a regular 98-octane petrol.
Instead, it will sell Platinum 98 with Techron at a cheaper price, which would see users save up to 9.5 per cent on their fuel bill for the same premium fuel.
Existing Gold with Techron customers can also upgrade to an ultra-premium fuel at no extra cost.
Octane 92 fuel!!!! For those 90's and before vehicle???
Marketing gimmicks? 98% purity is 98% purity. Does not matter if it's gold, platinum or plutonium.
how bout we just import cars with US-spec engines which can run on 89-octane petrol.. definitely cheaper!!

US is using the MON system,so 89 octane is = to S'pore RON 95 octane,the US 91 octane is = to S'pore 98 octane.
