it will be coming on March 2003.. i am booking it for test drive before i buy

Juz to let you know guys that Evo VIII has two versions. One of course will be the American version and the other we be having is the Japanese version. Hard to believe ehhh... Well, it's true. With Japanese version,we are far better than the American version in terms of functions and as well as speed. I be checking on the specs to confirm with you guys again. Seeya!

Okay, first of all I would like to say a big thank you to all of you for giving your comments and knowledge about Evo VIII especially to Juz_devil and Kohanson for the wonderful info on Evo VIII. With their info they gave, proves very useful in the Mitsubishi upcoming models.

Well well well, it's seem that we have rumours about Evo IX ? I am really surprised by that. Well, before I could continue on Evo IX, juz to let Anfuni and others with a benefit of doubt that there is a difference between Evo VII and Evo VIII.
Power is set at a conservative 280ps as before, but the Evo VIII gets a long overdue 6-speed manual tranny, adding ten more kilos to the transmission system. To maintain the same immense acceleration, the first gear's ratio is equivalent to that of an Evo VII. Second, third and fourth gears are of the same Super Close/Hi Ratio trans used in the WRC cars, while fifth has been set up lower than the previous 5M/T to match the three previous gears close ratio characteristics. The additional forward gear is set up for higher gearing than the Evo VII to save fuel in top gear cruising and achieve a higher top speed. Dials now sport a full scale 270km/h speedometer.
Weight reduction was a key improvement with the new Evo VIII. A light weight full carbon fibre spoiler shaves 2 kg off the previous resin wing. ENKEI Alloy wheels similar to those of the WRC car are lighter by almost 1kg per rim. And even the engine on the whole has been lighten with lighter parts. The fuel tank however is larger by 7 litres for the GSR and 2 litres for the RS.
Changes to the internal design of the AYC increases usable torque 1.6 times over the previous model, front and rear LSDs are now standard on the car. (Courtesy of www.ez-import.com)
So I guess that you have been enlightened by the specs given here. Talking back about Evo IX...shouldn't we place it aside for the time being? Evo VIII has juz recently touched Singapore road...

i apologise for my mistake.... my meaning for the similarity... its the exteria looks... of cos the specs will be diff... or else they will be wasting their R&R dept money on the new version.... i guess i had made a fool outta of myself... i am so sorry...
maybe wait till the newer version to be out on news b4 i start to tok abt it.....
