Hi everyone,
I am about to get myself my first new car and I would like the opinion from anyone of you on my choices.
I have been researching on the various car markers/models out there and have decided on the following choices:
1. Toyota Corolla Altis
2. Mitsubishi Lancer EX
3. Hyundai Avante
I have read quite a number of postings in this forum to the above models and I really appreciate all the comments and reviews. It has given me more insights.
Some postings are actually quite old already. Hence I would like to gather some feedback so that it can help me to make a better decision.
My main concern is the Fuel Consumption. I am not looking at changing cars every few years, which means I might end up with the same car for 10 good years. Hence, the running/maintenance cost is also a criteria to me.
Any comments / feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
corolla altis
but why not get allion?
18km/liter!
honda civic or city...
fourth generation de city not bad, those bbdc using one
among the 3 choices you have, i will take Mitsubishi Lancer EX
kia cerato forte
wats ur budget?
Thanks guys. My budget is $50k-$60k. $60k is kinda high for me but I am stretching it so as to rope in the Altis.

would like to reccomend honda as u intend to keep it for long but its out of ur budget.
since fuel consumption is ur main concern, den get a toyota.
altis n vios r pretty decent but very common on the rd.
>$65k can get a 2.0L lancerEX n a kia forte cost much lesser.

Toyota Corolla Altis will stretch your budget in terms of FC and comfort.
Alternatively, you can also consider the new 2009 facelifted Vios Sport.
Great stuff guys. Many thanks for your feedback. I will take note of these when I plan for the showroom visit.
Try the new Cerato Forte. With your budget, you can even get the new Magentis 2.0
Try not to stretch your budget. Work within your means. The current koreans are none too shabby. FC will depend mainly on your travel profile and your right foot.
Need to consider the car's monthly expenses as well...
buying car realli not easy, comsumer being spolit with too many choices. and owning a car is even more difficult considering the current market and the expenses need to fork out every month. haiz...

Yea... that's certainly a headache...
but still there are thousands of new buyers every month.. ![]()
I will take the altis, higher price, but I know it won't give me headaches.![]()
well.. if you happen to park amongest many altis-es, and your key battery is not that strong anymore.. then your headache will come...
where did i park my car?!? lol
the above will only work if ur the type that dun have very good directional sense and ur parking in a fairly large carpark.
