I am planning to buy a car for my wife owned business. The vehicle intended to be used as a light goods delivery(occassionaly) and most of the time for family communting. Since, this is going to be our first vehicle and i have no friends owning a commercial vehicle knowledge, i seek your opinion here.
I am planning to buy a used to Car\Van\MPV(Call whatever you want). Though, i am impressed by the Fiat Doblo's look :) , what are the cons of that vehicle and how good is that vehicle say, if it is 2 years old. Though, the condition vary on usauge, but, most of them carry a usage pattern, based on that what is your recommendations or suggestions.
How about, other models like Renault ? Throw your valuable advise, it would be helpful for me choosing my first car ever in Singapore.
The Fiat Dublo drives well... the side mirrors are big and parking is relatively easy.... The interior finishing doesn't disappoint too...
the doblo is a rather large van, but if you dont mind downsizing your idea to something a little smaller like the new toyota hiace 200, you won't be disappointed, especially with its rather powerful d4d engine..
but as the hiace is a very commonplace van......... hmm..
Renault Kangoo and Opel Combo should be fine as well... got good reviews from my peers on those too...
i have a friend who owns a doblo and drives it to sch everyday. his car/mpv/van had a lot of problems like clutch worn out, wheel alignment problems etc.however, the interior is pretty descent and it is spacious.thats all i know, but if u still like the doblo then by all means:)
Yes the doblo is nice..
Don't just look at the interior and exterior.. also consider the maintainance costs.. Even though its just a commericial vehicle, same type of vehicle but different brands such as Peugeot Partner, Citroen Berlingo, Volkswagen Caddy, Renault Kangoo, Opel Combo, the maintenance costs is high...
It's as good as buying a continental car.. just that it's a semi car/van.
I would personally recommend Toyota Hiace, engine is powerful and it's cheaper to maintain.

Personally I would stay clear of Renaults, especially 2nd hand LGVs. Heard lotsa horror stories on how much it costs to service them, maintain them, and especially repair them when something goes wrong.
