hi,
I pass my licence march 2009. 28 this year. wanted to get a new car but previous insurance quoted was 3.5k - 4k. and bank loan issue.
now considering my friends car
mazda 2 2004 model; renting at $700 a month including roadtax and insurance for 6 - 9 months. worth to take up ?
fyi, my monthly cab fare is about 500-600min; company pay for my petrol if i got a car.
Any advise?
Parking who pay? $65 bucks for open, $90 for multistorey, your office got season parking? Add $50 bucks min for the cashcard. How about maintenance cost? Need to buffer in abit, and the "what if" money just in case of accidents, even minor ones that can do settlement. What's the mileage on the vehicle? Is it coming to 100000? Need to replace the parts would cost quite a bit, unless your friend pay since its his car.![]()
How much to you earn monthly?
lets say you can put aside 1k a month for a car
(renting is stupid, really.)
i would prefer you get
:
Honda stream
Toyota wish(CNG) <--- imba
Toyota CA
Honda City.
allion would be a good choice. 18km/liter.

Why not get a small car to begin with like Picanto or Swift 1.3? I dun think insurance will hit 3 to 4K given your age.
If you rent a car, responsibility is on you to maintain the car. Any problem with the car, you have to answer for it.
$700 for insurance and tax?
that's not renting
that is handing over ![]()
true true, i would suggest you also to go for cars like honda fit, jazz etc

That's the rate for most cars. I see in the papers that most car rental companies offer around $1000 and above per month. But from what I know, if TS wants to rent from his friend, there has to be proper documentation for the transfer or stg. There are also lots of other costs incurred like parking, fines and maintenance, and also not forgetting the responsibility he has to shoulder should anything goes wrong with the car.

open i pay $65, office company pay, $50 - $100 cashcard, maintaince cost bare by him, accident i pay (if any), mileage 40k, any part replacement he pay.
it depends on you... you sure can come down with your friend's rent. he's most probably looking for someone to take over his car for the period also.
