Hi, I am curious... for the past few times I've been at the Macdonald's along Queensway Road ( Ridout Tea Gardens, the one with the turtle pond), sometimes the parking warden will come and he will shine his cute little torchlight at the parked cars to check their coupons.
So then after he zao, I go kaypoh and look around the cars, some of them without any coupons didn't get any summon, while some will kenna, and some put coupon ( I don't know what time did they put cause I don't have the cute little torchlight) kenna summon.
Is it because there's season parking for that area? or does the warden just anyhow hantum, I'm just curious. Thanks
You are cute to call it a "cute little torchlight". It should be RFID equipment to check on the season parking tag. So, probably, there is season parking there.
No, it was a torch. The RFID was on the ticketing machine he was holding. So how does season parking work is it for an area? or a specific parking location cause i don't think anyone would buy season parking for that place.
all season parking sticker comes with a wireless micro chip inside.
the Ticketing machine will scan the chip for valid season parking.
I always want to know, do they earn through Commission, the more they Fined the more they get?
I heard about they must hit a minimum quota of Fined every month. Don't know if its true.
I suppose they have some sort of incentive, else they wouldn't do much on the job right?
So yeah the season parking sticker has the chip okay, but is season parking area specific or carpark specific?
I mean who would wanna buy s.p for a macdonalds carpark! heh
I thought outsourced to private company?
No? ![]()
Hmm not very helpful all this information.
Parking wardens don't get comission at all. Season parking is carpark specific. Don't know much about the carpark which you mentioned. About the cars that don't put coupon, either they are season holders or if they are not, the wardens must do a time check - wait some mins before issuing the $30 saman.
Sometimes can't wait to do time checks for all the cars because have to move to another carpark already.
Ah thanks for that reply, it was very informative.
Anyway, I asked the attendent just now cause she happened to be there, at 130am!
Yup so her first round is to just go to each car and record their plates first if they don't have a valid coupon, then she gives an 11 minute grace, I didn't ask why 11 minutes though. Maybe depends on their favourite number hehe, maybe she likes Ryan Giggs.
So then after they would have some kind of alarm there, so after the grace period up the bugger still never come to the car then they kenna.
She said the season parking there was for that area though. Like the parking lots there and for this other carpark across the road at the flats there.
So anyway thanks for all the input, especially Gauze. =)
11 mins is because of HDB's rule. ![]()
