hi people, can someone help me on this?
how do i down-gear properly? normally i tap on the brake pedal then clutch in, bring the gear stick down, then release the clutch, but my problem is that when ever i release the clutch, the car will vibrate. i ask instructors why, they teach me not to just "throw" the clutch, instead release it slowly. i tried, sometimes i'm able to control better, sometimes not. i need tips from drivers on how do i improve on this?
and another problem will be, i mentioned that i tap on the brake pedal, but sometimes, out of my knowing, my leg will just "tap" abit harder which cause the car to go real slow, then after that the vibration, surely, i will want to improve on this.
one last problem is that, i think that i wont be able to drive smartly if i'm without an instructor beside me, i will forget to signal and do what's right or what not to do, any tips?
i will be having my tp test soon, in about 3 weeks' time, how do i ensure that i make it the first time round?
any constructive help will be appreciated!
thanks in advance =)
practise practise practise.
Learn all that the instructors teach u as habits, than something u need to pass the test then throw away.
feel the biting point of the clutch. do not release all one shot. hold the clutch at the biting point for a while, whether u r upshifting or downshifting.
lastly, practise somemore. u sound like u need it.
that's one way.
any other tips?
Down-gear properly,
The only advise is: DON'T THROW THE CLUTCH, JUST SLOWLY SLOWLY RELEASE THE CLUTCH PEDAL AND THE CAR WON'T JERK SO HARD
excuse me,
you just started learning only, you sure you know better than i do?
He's only giving you some advice and the advice which I see him giving is very appropriate. Do you have to be so mean?
And judging from your understanding of cars and gears, I doubt you can pass on first try. Sure, you can prove me wrong.
Good luck.
You will have to drive more. Focus & feel the movement of the car rather than focusing on the techniques. Techniques are dead.
If the speed is too slow the car will surely jerk because the car is already at a stopping speed. You can free wheel the car at such speed but make sure your foot is at the brake pedal.
Once the clutch engage you will have to accelerate if not the slow speed will stall the engine.
At the end of the day, feel the movement of the vehicle. Do not put all your focus on the techniques.

Haiz give you advice you so freaking mean, you think you very big ar? Pray hard for you that you FAIL your TP test the FIRST ATTEMPT. So who more mean now..
just like that means i'm mean?
wait till you see more of this world.
not trying to be mean here, but rather i think i'm a wet-blanket uh?
Good luck to your driving test and living your life. WIth your attitude, you will need it.
u need more practice... lots of it... given the fact that u will b having ur TP in 3 wks' time.. when i was at ur stage, i've more or less mastered the clutch... well, that's besides the point...
u gotta feel ur car... feel the motion n momentum... it only then will u master the clutch... listen to the engine, feel the motion... techniques r useless if u cant utilise them.. what dreamwerks said is really true.. if u think that the car is just a car, it will b just that... but if u let the car b an extension of urself, u can master n hone ur driving skills as though its natural, just like walking... try harder ba..
fyi, i passed on my first attempt..
